Let\'s see if that\'s true.

There's actually already a whole forum dedicated to this game. If you can't find your info there you won't find it anywhere.

AndrewW91 asks... Could you give us a sense of how open the world is? And what kind of activities we can take part in while not on a mission (if any)?

Jeronimo Barrera: The world is completely open for you to travel through at all times, but the focus of the game is not the same as a Grand Theft Auto or Red Dead Redemption. This time, the city is a backdrop for the incredibly accurate real-world locations and crime scenes that Cole Phelps explores on his way to solving each case. The game has been crafted to seamlessly blend classic cops-and-robbers style action with dynamic interrogations and searching for suspects in a way that one doesn't distract from the other.

There are ambient events within the game world that you will hear more about in the weeks ahead, like unassigned cases or robberies in progress that you can take on outside of the main story, but the focus is on Cole's progression through the ranks of the LAPD and the events that unfold as a result.

Is there an actual up to date  realease date? Amazon US is saying April, Amazon UK isnt giving a date and Ive heard rumours of a release date for September/October. Im eager to get this and have been since the orignial release date of September last year. Also any news on Agent which sounds awesome but unfortunally appears to be a PS3 only release.

Yeah 29th of April according to Play.com (UK), I can't really see it changing, would of thought the stamping process would begin soon.
I'm also looking forward to Agent, they're going showing more about it at this years E3, I'm glad its only on the PS3, no offence to the other Consoles, but Exclusives tend to have more quality, as opposed to multiplatform.

So basically it sounds like it is open world, but in terms of doing minigames and side-missions - it's a different story than GTA and RDR.

I hadn't been that interested in LA NOIRE -- until I saw Clifton's Cafeteria (South Seas) in the trailer!  Living in Los Angeles, I'm excited to see actual historic LA locations.  A game playing like LA CONFIDENTIAL or DEVIL IN A BLUE DRESS...  Ok, I'm excited now.

Its like a Combination of GTA and Mafia 2
You just play some guy who does quest or missions,
All of Rockstars games are like that (Rdr, Gta, Bully, etc)

GTA and RDR aren't 'open world', they are 'open roaming'. The main missions are on-rails with set outcomes.
