[TV] Game of Thrones
« on: April 25, 2011, 02:19:30 PM »
Anyone watch the first episode last week? Its like a cross between Lord of the Rings, Spartacus (nudity and violence wise). Worth watching.

"Ser, would sooner you returned to Harrenhal with us, Sandor. I bet he would. Or King's Landing..."
"Bugger that. Bugger Him. Bugger you"

I really enjoyed last weeks episode, it didn't move the plot on too much, but it's certainly whet my appetite for more. Looking forward to watching it tonight :D

Sean Bean was an awesome choice as lead for this I reckon!

(gonna end this quote-train before it gathers steam :P)

Yeah, they are! EWWWW! Hehe

I wasn't sure at first either, but I went back and watched the beginning just to check. A pretty big revelation there, call me a TV noob but I really didn't expect that kind of reaction from the blonde guy :( poor kid.

LOL Damnnn, no wonder

Show content for Hiden:
the kid got thrown, if deserting is a executable offence, I wonder if Incest is looked up on in the same way. In any case that guy is going to meet a brutal death if/when Ned finds out

Yeah not TOO much of a spoiler, just a possible outcome. I hope the Queen gets whats coming to her, poor Direwolf. Pretty much all the blonde people need to be killed lol. Aside from that other newly wed blonde chick, I'm completely lost with that part, like is she part of a different family/race? I know one thing, I want the soundtrack, whenever that may be released, its epic

Yeah, I see now. Great episode though! It felt strangely short, left me wanting to watch more haha.

Show content for Hiden:
Yeah... The Dire wolf part was sad, I was sure he'd set it free. Kinda say something about Stark, very loyal despite some questionable orders.

I loved the line "You were disarmed by a girl..." by the king. That kid was pathetic, and he deserved what he got! I can't believe that the girl's sister wouldn't back her up, ridiculous! And then she complained that HER wolf had to be killed! Silly cow. Sean Bean needs to give her a slap. :whip:

As for the blonde newly-wed. From what I've gathered, her and her brother are the children of the former king who was deposed by the current king. With the marriage, I'm pretty sure that it's a political ploy by the brother to gain control of the Horse-men's army so he can retake the throne for himself. Pretty much it in a nutshell!

Oh yeah, the sound-track is superb, really sets the tone well..

It's shaping up to be a good series :D

This is seriously the best TV show based off a book series, ever.  I've read everything up until Feast for Crows and I've got to say that this will be greatest TV series for a looong time to come.  Epically when the war starts next season.

I have to watch this through other means since we don't get it in here. Well we do but on pay channels only. After seeing the 2 episodes last week I have to say DAMN THIS IS AWESOME. Haven't read the books, but the reaauthor has been on my to-read-list for quite long now. When I get through with Salvatore I'll pick that guy up from the local library.

How many books are there? I hear the author is regarded as the J.R.R Tolkien of the US.
