Max Payne 3
« on: December 28, 2011, 07:31:16 PM »
I've been waiting for a new Max Payne game for almost a decade, so needless to say I'm really excited for this. I'm about to pre-order the special edition with the DLC and whatnot, but I'm having trouble deciding whether I should get it for the PS3 or PC.

For those of you who haven't seen the in-depth gameplay video they recently released:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=p3KK0Z-rzlw

It will also have a multiplayer feature similar to what was in RDR(with xp, leveling up, gangs, etc), so I'm thinking of starting up a clan.

That truly looks amazing. The animations and bullet time are superb! I wasn't sold on the game before, but I think I am now.

does anybody know if there will be different aiming modes like in RDR? I really don't like that casual killing.

Doesn't look like it. I don't see any aim-assist.

It's probably an option. But only for the singleplayer.

Goddamn I'm excited for this game. I've already fully pre-ordered it for myself. Two more months!

Anyone else thought've pre-ordering the instant they saw the gameplay trailer?

I haven't played Max Payne 1 or 2, but I hear they're good, I'll probably buy 1 and 2, and then get 3.

PS, is bullet time kind of like dead eye?

Pretty much, yes. It slows down time to let you kill enemies all at once.

Aw. Oh well, more time for Mass Effect 3. I will be too hooked on ME3 to even pay attention to Max Payne 3 so I will have to get Max Payne 3 later on.

Damn, was hoping to pick up Max Payne for my birthday.

But ME3 is a few days before my birthday so I guess I'll get that instead.

The first 2 games were top-notch so I'm really looking foward to checking this one out.

Really, really excited about this game. The fluid dynamics and cinematic approach really push the bounds of how much of a film it is, while still keeping a good difficulty and demanding strategy.
Things, and stuff

I'm too excited about the game. The 2nd Part was too skillful. I hope they involve a character like Mona Sax this time. We won't be expecting any new moves this time. Max's abilities will have been reduced with age. And I just want a few enterable cars atleast. I wish Max Payne 3 would be closer to GTA features. I look forward to play with the BOTW team.

The first two games (awesome as they were) were very linear in their gameplay. Anyone know if the 3rd installment will be more open-world orientated like RDR/GTA?

I think so. They took a lot of time, so it won't be disappointing.

... Max Payne is meant to be like that. Not every single rockstar game has to be open-world. I for one believe if the game was open world, it would sort of ruin it. Linear games usually have a better storyline anyway.
