The first two games (awesome as they were) were very linear in their gameplay. Anyone know if the 3rd installment will be more open-world orientated like RDR/GTA?

... Max Payne is meant to be like that. Not every single rockstar game has to be open-world. I for one believe if the game was open world, it would sort of ruin it. Linear games usually have a better storyline anyway.

Not always, a lot of the time they're too short. Especially when packed with a Multiplayer. Which in this case, seems to be unnecessarily added on to boost console sales.

All I hope for is, a nice, lengthy storyline. Right now this game looks a lot like Uncharted, but with superior gunplay. Should be a bucket of fun. :D

I think so. They took a lot of time, so it won't be disappointing.

No, it will not be open world. Max Payne is story-driven and keeps you focused on one path. I actually prefer it that way.

While watching the video in the OP, the game looks great (like, amazing) but the "Skyrim on TI-84" is, IMO 10x more awesome.

Max Payne 3 cannot be compared to Skyrim. It has its own charm. Seriously, I still got the Max payne 1 & 2 disks in pretty good condition. All I expect is a few fair new features and Multiplayer. Rockstar surely know how a good storyline should be made. Atleast not 21 missions(3 chapters) like the MP2.

I never compared it to Skyrim, just the "video game on a calculator" part. It'd be like comparing apples to...a couch.

Anyways, back to Max Payne talk.

I can't wait to see the return of bullet-time. When the Matrix was in theaters it was the great big new gaming innovation, the great equalizer for overwhelming numbers and several games did a fine job with it (Payne most of all.) I dunno why they stopped that innovation, when it comes to shooters in general they take one step foward, two steps back...

The movement and effects of this game are truly phenomenal. Never seen anything like it in a video game.

Depending on the multiplayer, I may or may not get it during release. I am trying to save my money for Bioshock Infinite, Borderlands 2, Halo 4, Far Cry 3, and Assassin's Creed 3.

Max Payne 3 may have to wait. I might not even get the game.  :-\
