Having trouble STAYING logged in

I mean, I'll go to the login page and click "keep myself logged in forever" or whatever but the second I close the page, I find myself logged out again. It's a minor annoyance but one all the same

What browser are you using?

A few steps which should work.

1) Clear your cache
2) Go to the new address
3) Log in using the main login and check the box to stay logged in
4) Create a new bookmark/favourite to this new address
5) Click that bookmark a couple of times and check if it stays logged in.

For about a month now I have been having trouble staying logged on to the site. The only way I can get on is to request a new password because when I try and log on with the old one it says it is no longer valid or it is already in use. Also previously when I logged on it would automatically direct me to the forums and now it will not.
Any suggestions on how I can click on and not have to re-type all my information to get on?
