how do we increase traffic?
« on: August 27, 2013, 04:47:42 AM »
This place clearly is going from an RDR to a Rock* forum now.  But the traffic hasn't increased at all.  We need to pull in GTA fans by making a section dedicated to it.  This includes subsections dedicated to multiplayer, single player, gameplay etc. Just like we used to have with RDR.  As it stands now we will not increase traffic and the release is just 3 weeks away.  I only want this site to survive and so I believe something different needs to be done.

We are trying by promoting on Facebook and Twitter, plus we do plan to make a full GTA V board with child boards, etc. We started moving threads to their proper place in the GTA section and we will build from there. We want to see more traffic too! :)

Any news on switching back to red dead.net? Clearly changing to rockstar-forums failed and if this place has any hope of returning to its former glory we need to revert to a tried and tested formula ready for when R* make that announcement.

Does anybody disagree with me or have most people just lost interest?

Im on board with a switch back to a rdr featured forum. This was the biggest and best RDR site during the game's golden age, no reason that shouldn't be the case when a new RDR is announced. If the name is to be reverted back then it needs to be done prior to an announcement to catch as much search traffic as possible, or else another site may step in to fill the void.

I agree with you, Sile....but I'm afraid that it's true that some people have lost interest along the years.  I really think we should at least make an attempt to resurrect some kind of Red Dead theme. People are still playing Red Dead on PS3 and with the Xbox One backwards compatibility going into full force by fall of this year - which is only a couple months away - Red Dead will be playable once again for the Xboxer's ...hopefully fixed. I know I'll be playing it.  I am sure that having Red Dead on the One will spark new interest in the game as well as all the die-hard fans who miss and love this game.

Reading through some of the comments on the Xbox website where you can vote for your favorite 360 game....it is evident that some players who got rid of Red Dead will be getting it again now that it will be playable on the One.  https://xbox.uservoice.com/forums/298503-backwards-compatibility?filter=hot&page=1

Those of us who still play Red Dead (or still own the game at least) are the ones who will keep this site going!  I can not wait until I can play it on the One!  I know that I will be recording all the stuff I couldn't when I played it on the 360.  Along with other players who like to record and broadcast on Twitch.  People will get talking again about the game and they will want to come here. We need to be ready and soon.

I do have a Youtube and a Twitch account.... I need to do some more recording and add a link to this site so people can find us.

I think there's a big reason to change back assuming there's going to be another RDR which at some point is very likely. There were 5 years between the last two GTA's wasn't there? Unfortunately I can see it being another 2-3 years easily before another RDR is released. I hope I'm wrong.
