That is such bullshit. No way it is "RDR2: Legends of the West." That sounds like a $2 DLC for an Ubisoft game.

"Experience the life of ranch hand. Explore the vast world, climb towers to unveil the map, hide from your boss in wagons filled with hay and follow missions, lots and lots of follow missions.
Red Dead Redemption 2: Legends of the West, new downloadable content from Ubisoft.
Available in the xbox marketplace and playstation store for $25 or included in the $80 season pass ("Wild Wild West" Character Pack & "Dog Outfits" Pack not included). "

Does it come with a weeks worth of bugs making it unplayable?

Grand Theft Auto V and Red Dead Redemption developer Rockstar Games is "hard at work" on new games, which will be announced "soon," parent company Take-Two Interactive announced today.

The tease came as part of the company's latest earnings report, and with E3 right around the corner, the timing is particularly interesting.

"Rockstar Games is of course hard at work on some exciting future projects that will be revealed soon," Take-Two said.

The publisher did not provide any further details on these games. However, Take-Two president Karl Slatoff mentioned during an earnings call that the company is working on new IP to further diversity its portfolio, though it is not known if one of Rockstar's new games is a new IP.

CFO Lanie Goldstein also mentioned that Take-Two is expecting a 75/25 revenue split between 2K Games and Rockstar Games for the current fiscal year (April 1, 2016-March 31, 2017). This would suggest Rockstar's next game may not come out during this fiscal year.

Additionally, CEO Strauss Zelnick said on the call that Take-Two has announced its complete slate for the current fiscal year, and no Rockstar titles are on it.

Recently, Zelnick teased that the company had big plans for E3 2016. In April this year, what was believed to be the map for Red Dead Redemption 2 leaked, suggesting the game was possibly a prequel to the 2010 original.

In terms of business performance, Take-Two had a tough fourth quarter and full year ended March 31. For the fourth quarter, revenue was $342.5 million, compared to $427.7 million during the same period last year. Take-Two mentioned that last year's fiscal fourth quarter benefited from the launch of Evolve and ongoing sales of the company's "more extensive holiday 2014 release slate," thus making for a tough comparison.

Profit for the quarter was $51.7 million, down from $54.3 million during the same period last year.

Key drivers of revenue for Take-Two's fourth quarter included Grand Theft Auto V, GTA Online, NBA 2K16, XCOM 2, and WWE 2K16. Revenue from digital sources jumped 12 percent to $226.6 million, with the GTA, NBA 2K, and WWE 2K franchises, as well as XCOM 2, helping drive the growth.

Another bright spot in the quarter was "recurrent consumer spending," which includes virtual currency and DLC. This sector grew 15 percent year-over-year and made up 55 percent of net revenue from digital sources, or 37 percent of total net revenue. Catalog sales during the quarter amounted to $211.3 million, led by the GTA and Borderlands franchises.

For the full year, revenue was $1.561 billion, down from $1.669 billion during the previous fiscal year. Again, Take-Two mentioned that the previous year's game lineup was "more extensive," thus making for a tough comparison. Take-Two pulled in a profit of $218.3 million for the year, down slightly from $219.2 million.

Take-Two called out GTA V, GTA Online, NBA 2K16, NBA 2K15, and XCOM 2 as being the "largest contributors" to revenue for the full year. Revenue from digitally content rose by 36 percent to hit an all-time record of $835.2 million. The GTA, NBA 2K, WWE 2K, and Borderlands franchises led the way here, with XCOM 2 also called out as a top performer.

Recurrent consumer spending revenue was also on the rise for the full year, jumping 33 percent compared to the previous year and making up 48 percent of revenue from digital sources; this comes out to 26 percent of total revenue.

"Fiscal 2016 marked the third consecutive year of stronger-than-expected Non-GAAP revenues and profits for Take-Two," Zelnick said. " Our results were driven by the continued extraordinary performance of Grand Theft Auto V, ongoing momentum in our NBA 2K and WWE 2K series, the successful launch of XCOM 2, and our highest-ever revenue from recurrent consumer spending."

Gamespot has released some info saying that Rockstar have been hard at work on some new games which they will announce soon. The timing is interesting given all the rumours about an announcement at E3, then rumours about it not being ready, etc etc.
Its still entirely possible will do their own thing and not get all caught up in the other news coming out of E3.

I feel like they've been on the verge of an announcement for 3 years now.  Before long people are going to lose patience.

Prior to GTAV, Rockstar took a year to release a game once they announced it and with the ridiculous amount of time they took to get that game done they may shrink the reveal window to a few months for whatever is coming next. I still think the whole Leslie Benzies debacle slowed their progress on whatever they were working on, hopefully it isn't still on hold pending the outcome of the lawsuit(s). The financial success of GTAV and Online has removed the pressure to produce games in a timely manner, which sucks for us but at the same time it could bode well for the quality of future games since they want to pack as much excitement into them as they can and have the time to do so. Their games used to set the bar higher and higher for the industry but in recent years companies have caught up and arguably passed them, surely theyre aware of where they stand and Its likely that they want to assert their dominance in the open world sandbox genre like they have in the past. IF their next game is a new RDR and they intend to make it the biggest, baddest game they've ever made, well, Rome wasnt built in a day.

I could be mistaken but i believe the voice actor for Ricketts passed away years ago.

You are correct. Ross Hagen, who voiced Landon Ricketts passed away in 2011.

Of course, they could always go with another voice actor if they wanted to use him in the game. Put any slight change in voice down to being at a different time in the life of Landon.

So, what do you guys think? How likely is an announcement of a new Red Dead at E3 2016? With all the information we have I'd say, without wanting to sound too optimistic, 95%.

I don't think they would make it backwards compatible if they wanted to push a remaster. Could be though.

Id love a Remastered RDR but id settle for a BC if it comes with functional servers. Can you imagine multiplayer  launch day 2.0? Freeroam lobbies full of people riding donkeys a and firing cattlemans at each other, the occasional HPP spammer holding down the land grab at MacFarlanes, an 8 man posse traveling from gang hideout to gang hideout mowing down all low level players and 1xp awarding NPCs in their path. You might even be lucky enough to get a 16 player hardcore FFA going, few things were as entertaining for me as the circle of players waiting for the start of one of those, hard to believe its been 6 years since i saw that happen. /nostalgia

Its an interesting debate, remaster vs backwards compatible. If it was to be made BC it would mean everyone would keep their stats that they've earn over the past 6 years. However it limits it to just Xbox.
If they were to do a remaster, then they could open it up to PS4 as well. Of course everyone would probably need to start from scratch but they would also be starting with (presumably) a clean and fresh server. Who knows, maybe they could even get rid of the loopholes that caused people to be able to glitch. Additionally, with the Xbox One and Playstation 4 now always recording, proving when people are trying to cheat might make it easier to punish the offenders swiftly.

Speaking of voice actors, a while ago i came across this piece about the actor that played John Marston. Nothing newsworthy about a new game but it is a little freaky hearing the legendary voice while seeing the real life face that bears almost no resemblance to the character.

 https://youtu.be/_NuYx8oP_S8

He could have parlayed this role into a career that would rival Troy Baker's but chose to give it all up to raise a family in a small town. Eerily similar to JM who gave up the live fast lifestyle to start a family with Abigail, hopefully his kids turn out better than Jack Marston.

Oh for sure. Playing John Marston so well really could have set him up well for a career in acting (or at least voice acting roles). In a way I'm kind of glad that he hasn't done any other major works, as it makes him kinda special. The issue with some well known voice actors is imagining their other roles in the game you're playing. Takes away from the immersion when you recognise the voice and start to drift off thinking about what other roles they've done.
