One-Drive
« on: September 13, 2016, 05:11:23 PM »
As I am now riding both nextgen consoles, with recently acquiring an Xbox One after spending the last couple of years starting out on PS4.

The Xbox is the console that is connected to Microsoft Windows, which is suppose to make it easier for sharing content between devices.
The recording gameplay feature on the nextgen consoles, where there is no need for an external capture device (Hauppage HDPVR) the manufactures have built it all in.

With PS4 it is easy...... press Share > then square button. and its saved to the hard drive, then you can connect an External hard drive to copy the clips off the console and work on editing a video from a PC/Laptop.

But with Xbox One...... I don't think we can connect an external hard drive to copy them off,  So I been trying to figure out how to upload the clips to the "One Drive" our own online storage where we can copy photos, videos, documents too.

Is it certain that is the only way we can copy and save our recorded clips from the Xbox One....... Because I have been trying to copy some clips today and it keeps failing.

Yeah, transfer through USB is often requested, but not possible now. If you open your clips in upload studio you can add them to one drive there. Also, take a look at xboxdvr.com and I think xboxclips.com. Maybe check your privacy and sharing settings. I tried to pull up your videos on www.xboxdvr.com and it showed 0. It also said "if you can't see any check your sharing etc... I know from the Xbox feed that you have some so that could be messing things up.

Question: I Can't see my videos. What's up?
Answer 1: Xbox Live Gold is required for videos to be uploaded to Microsoft servers.

Answer 2: You control sharing of clips through your Privacy & Family Safety settings:

From your computer:
Visit: Privacy Settings
Scroll to See your game clips (Xbox One Only) and choose Everybody.
Then visit: Xbox One Settings
Scroll to Share game clips and choose Allow.
Scroll to Share outside of Xbox Live and choose Allow.
From your Xbox One:
Say “Xbox, Go to Settings,” or select Settings from the Home screen.
Select Privacy & family safety.
Select Customize.
Select Share game clips and screenshots.
Choose to Allow or Block.

You can download them from this site and skip one drive if you like. Not ideal for mobile or data capped/slow internet, but fine sitting at a PC. What's fun is that you can grab anyone's clips if they have sharing on. So you could have several friends playing together and record at the same time, then pick and choose multiple viewpoints to compile a single video.

You remind me. I wanted to save a couple of my videos I did playing Rocket League for the first time (against AI). Man are they dumb.

All good help....... TAAA

I got the Xbox set so it always saves the last 5 mins, when double tap "Home" then "X"  (its a shame it don't do 15 mins like PS4...... I will have to remember to save, so not to lose good action)

If you have Windows 10 on your computer there is an Xbox app that will have all your clips and screenshots. You can save them to your computer that way also.

Every time I see the name "One-Drive" I think of this song:

May as well put this question on here:  Does Xbox One have remote play, like on PS4....... where we can download an app that lets us start our console from a Laptop or Desktop PC?

When you open the SmartGlass app, tap the Xbox icon at the top center or the screen.
The name of the Xbox with a moon and cloud next to it shows up in the list of consoles on your network.
Tap the name of your Xbox One and tap the Turn On button.
