Euro Truck Simulator 2
« on: May 03, 2017, 09:25:44 PM »
Probably about time this got its own topic seeing as a couple of us are playing again.

I've started getting back into the swing of things after having to restart. Not sure what happened to my previous progress but I can't remember if I was that far in so its no biggie. Just hired my second driver so now I can start repaying the loan I took out to buy my own truck/upgrade my garage.

I've also been switching back and forth between my PC gamepad, my old Playstation 2/USB steering wheel (which I had never used before) and my Xbox One controller. I think I'm going to stick with my Xbox One controller though, only because I have the chat gamepad attached so I can use all the keyboard commands as well instead of being limited to the 12 or so buttons on the gamepad. It was also a pain having to change each button when I switched from controller to controller.

What kind of truck do you drive? I have a Volvo FH16, low cab, in orange :)
My hired driver keeps making a loss, altough I gave a her a good truck. Almost bankrupt at the moment...

#TeamVolvo

It's been a while since I played, I might boot it back up. Maybe we should get an online game going?

That will end up in a giant ball of fire no doubt, though the game doesn't feature any.

I'll go and have a look if I can get it to work.

I drive a Mercedes. My experience with F1 says that they are faster.

I would love to get an online game going. I'm free all of Saturday, so that would be Friday night/Saturday morning for you guys. We should try and use Discord too for the team chat. I've been meaning to try out the voice channels as that is what so many streamers now use for their voice chat.

I see trucks driving round everyday and it looks boring. What makes it more fun on a computer?

The fact that crashing doesn't end in the deaths of a dozen people.

I'm not sure but I might have a look now. For anyone who hasn't got Discord yet, do so.

It seems we need to go here (https://truckersmp.com/) and register an account/download the MP mod.

I had a bit of a go on the MP. It works exactly like SP but it seems they've taken out the NPC traffic.

I don't think its all that intensive. And with them removing the NPC vehicles I think its so they can allow for MP players to not lag. Also if the servers have hundreds/thousands of truckers there isn't much room for other traffic.

Also, if you've got a Discord account how come I ain't seen you on our server?

Met up with Wilson online, was fun to see him driving around :) But the jobs are randomly generated, so we couldn't haul together...
Apparently on ets2sync.com you can upload your save file and both download it so the jobs are syncronized... I couldn't get it to work though... :(

After searching for a bit, we had our first convoy 8) Jobs cannot be synchronized, you need to hope for the best. We were hauling excavators from Liege to Poznan (thumbsup2)
Too bad there was one guy being annoying, he kept crashing into me and I had to make a little detour.
