Do you think we will see John Marston?

Either a cameo, a regular character, or not at all?

Obviously the trailer shows Dutch, his gang, and even Bill williamson.  So will John be present?

Rockstar love having characters from past games in their new titles so I wouldn't be surprised to see him make a cameo at the very least.

I hope there isn't multiple protagonists in this game but if there is, I'd like one of them to be John.

I want him to be in it really badly, but I don't think he will be. The voice actor is retired. That was such an iconic voice, it cant be properly duplicated. He will for sure be referenced and mentioned. My money is on the time frame of the game being right after the gang leaves him behind and shit starts to fall apart. Look how much trouble the gang is in during the trailer... They are extorting, intimidating, and robbing everything in sight. It seems to me that they are pretty desperate. Trust is also brought up. The blonde lady talks about trust and so does Dutch. They are also being hunted down and chased by someone or some organization. The whole group seems desperate and paranoid.

That all points to this taking place toward the end of the group to me. So John is still either gravely injured, in jail, or just out of jail setting up his farm with his family.

If we do have 3 Protagonists, of Morgan, Dutch & Bill..... its gonna to be to much like GTA5

I think John Marston will make an appearance right at the end of a climatic story, the story will focus on Dutch, Bill and Morgan.

Morgan is Dutch's right hand man...... and when he is brutally killed at the end of the story (like how John was in RDR1 ending) Dutch is left fuming for a while, then he notices young John Marston who is looking lost after running away from the orphanage. So Dutch takes him in looks after him, trains him to become that most fearsome outlaw will been told he was.

I really hope he is!  To me, it seems like he should be since he was in Dutch's gang. And, I think he deserves more than just a reference or a cameo appearance.  I wouldn't mind having a trio of playable characters (just like in GTAV) with John being one of them. I'd like to know more about John's past and how he got started in the gang, met Abigail and all the events that led up to the very beginning of the first RDR.

(My money is still on the young boy in the trailer who I think might be John!)

After Red Dead Redemption i saw countless comments about how you would love to see the next game be a prequel featuring John Marston and the gang but now its a reality all i see is people moaning.So I ask YOU, if the rdr2 story is a prequel would you be happy or would you prefer to see brand new characters in a separate story?I personally would love it to be a prequel and Marston is my favourite Rockstar protagonist so i would love to see him again during his days with Dutchs gang but I would prefer the main playable protagonist to be a new charecter to give the game a fresh feel. It being a prequel also gives me a reason to complete rdr again and this time pay attention to what Marston and gang have to say about their past.
