RDR in 4K
« on: April 10, 2018, 07:39:41 PM »
I haven’t had a chance to update my game yet, but RDR has been enhanced for the Xbox one X and now rounds in 4K. Can’t wait to check this out.

From Ars Technica:

“The arguable biggest news of the day is that Red Dead Redemption's Xbox 360 version has now been patched to take advantage of Xbox One X hardware. That means, like other Xbox 360 games given the X treatment, RDR will now render at nine times its original 720p resolution. Should you have a 4K TV, an Xbox One X, and a copy of RDR, you'll be able to play the game at 3840x2160 pixel resolution once its patch launches sometime today.”

I was wondering what that update was for!  Oh well, too bad I don't have a 4K tv or an Xbox 1X.  I just think is stupid to have an update like this for a game that is hardly ever playable in multiplayer.  I played it the other day and seemed to run smoothly, but I when I tried it last night it took me forever to get into a free roam session.  Guess it's time for it to be broken again.

October can't come soon enough!  #RDR2

It’s a steady 30 FPS now. I’ve heard that places like thieves’ landing that had frame rate issues are now solid. This is all Microsoft’s doing. Their BC team works on this stuff and when they have it finished they show the publisher and ask to release it. I see people on Twitter pissed at Rockstar for not doing this for the PS4, but it’s not their fault. Having said that the game looks terrific. Everything is much cleaner and more defined. I started a new playthrough and this was a very nice surprise.
