Since I have pre-ordered digitally it said that the download will be available on 10/25 @ 11:00 pm, so I am going to be downloading it at that time for sure and then it will probably turn into an all-nighter with lots of coffee! LOL! Also, thinking about requesting off on the 25th and 26th. Most likely will be playing the hell out of it daily!  Which reminds me....should have an extra supply of rechargeable batteries for the controller!

I’d be fine with it being 2 months later.

I don't want to be stuck playing through the story in single player...…… I like to mix it up with bit of both.

In all seriousness, each time I enter a new part of the world, I’d like it to be in single player.

That is of course assuming the entire world isn’t open for exploration from the off like it was in GTA5, which I hope it isn’t.

I wouldn't mind a small delay in online. Maybe like a week or something. But that is purely because I won't be able to play that much the first 3 days as I will be at PAX Aus which runs for 3 days from release date. I am basically gonna be there all day hanging out with friends, and then home to play Red Dead, maybe a few hours sleep and then rinse and repeat.

@Ferguson99 Having an option to turn off all HUD options would be nice. Get real immersed in the game.

more than likely going to shut off everything that might distract from my first play session of Red Dead Redemption 2 ... yup unless it's life threatening i want be aware of it ... so aside from a little get up and walk break, a meal or bio break i'll be engaged with in game life ... as far as online play it will be there when i get there ...

to avoid problems with my pre-order this time, i instead bought and paid for my hard copy already ... learned my lesson about pre-orders at my local Game Stop last time when i was told by the asst. manager "sorry we don't have a copy for you ... and the 2 copies we do have are being held for customers that called in this morning" ... i always thought a pre-order was how you guarantee getting your game on release day ...

so on go day ... Do Not Disturb ... will be posted on my game room door ...

I just hope the MP is as a good as RDR. There was something special about that game.

I will be VERY interested to see how the Red Dead Online plays out. It has been so massive for GTA that even 4-5 years after release there is still regular little content updates and SO SO much to do in the world. Based on how it affected the share prices for Take-Two (look up the share price from 2013-now) I can only be encouraged that they are going to take that format and run with it.

I'm sure if you're going the digital download option there will be a preload period a few days beforehand where you can download the game and any "day one" updates. Then its just a tiny patch day of to unlock the content and you'll be fine.

You cant beat a good old hard copy (disk)  the case will sit nicely in my collection of Rockstar classics.

So just pop the disk in PS4 and give it 10 mins to install all the data.

i've gone the hard copy route ... i'm still not sold on digital downloads but find it becoming more the norm ...
even if i could download early it wouldn't make my crappy internet service provider run any faster ... i'm doing good to get just under 10 Mbps download speed ...

Has anyone else pre-ordered digitally on Xbox?  I have a download date of 11pm 10/25. But I keep hearing reports of earlier pre-load dates...as early as a week or 2 before release. I want to know how is this possible???? I know it won't be playable until midnight, but it would be really nice to have it all ready instead of waiting that night. This game is literally the very first game that I've pre-ordered digitally, so I'm not real familiar how this works.
