to tell you the truth the game needs a proper photo mode ...
near impossible to take really good photos of yourself and surroundings ...
just want let you back the camera point of view far enough away ...
unless i've missed something ... and if you go into the cinematic mode you have no control at all ...
i can do the selfie photo but you can't see much of your surroundings ...
hope you guys are having better luck ... how do you guys take self in image surrounding photos?

On the Xbox at least you can use the Xbox DVR to take a screenshot or video.

the PS4 likewise has a video/photo capture feature however placement of the view point is still not an option to set up a photo of what i want to show ...
i'm talking of a photo mode like in the Crew 2 ... with all the bells-n-whistles ...
maybe something better will show up in the multiplayer version of the game ... we can only hope ...

Hopefully they allow a bit more of a free roam camera at some point.

I prefer the Xbox screenshots than the photo mode. The different poses and expressions are fun for selfies, but the quality is much better using the Xbox to capture photos. I'll go into 1st person and take off the minimap to get most my photos of scenery. Just as I expected, the photos come out dark using the in game camera, just like on GTAV snapmatics.

No, I haven't tried to float a coach yet. Tried to get my horse on a roof by jumping up onto something next to a house but it seemed to hurt Arthur and the horse didn't appreciate it very much either. Will try again sometime if I see something that might work...and once I get to New Austin, I will try on the roofs I know used to work.  Wonder if we can get horses on top of trains? I'm afraid that the same "glitchyness" isn't there in this game....but, keep the faith and stay strong...it's still early yet!

A dedicated photo mode still uses the Xbox or PS4 screenshot mechanism though. It just lets you fly the “camera” around like a drone so you could drop it over a cliff and shoot back at Arthur or away from him. Then just hide the hud and take a screenshot. Right now you’re limited to where he stands or a short distance away for the selfie.

yeah Pug ... i found a couple of houses i can get my horse on top of but the photo mode weather the console mode or the silly little camera they give your character will not allow me to move the camera's point of view far enough away to see the house with my character and horse on top of it ... that is the issue i'm having with photo mode ... i can take some very nice scenic photos and the little camera work fine for selfies close up  ... so here's hoping we get a proper photo mode at some point ...

We need multiplayer so we can take screenshots of eachother I guess?
Those shenanigans better work online; I don't want to wait another 8 years... It's already annoying enough that RDR has grown up and I haven't...

That’s hilarious. I also share a birthday with him, although he hopes to become 12 years younger than me.

VMB, we all have national embarrassments so don’t worry. You have that guy, we have Ferguson.
