Easter Eggs and other oddities
« on: November 19, 2018, 04:35:02 PM »
Red Dead Redemption is chock full of Easter Eggs and other strange random events...so it seems.

What have you found so far?  Post some photos and game clips with any details on how to find them here.

I have heard of something to do with the "I know you" dude in a little house deep in the swamps. Has anyone else heard about it because I am wondering if it is true or not? I found the house but the event that supposed to happen didn't.

I had heard about this guy and ran across it myself the other night:

Not an oddity so much as just a glitch but that rock is floating

WTF is that thing Fisherman?

I've read there are confirmed encounters with multiple ghosts, Aliens and Bigfoot.

Some science experiment some guy does on animals.  There’s a house you can break into and find this.

I believe I may have encountered one of them ghosts: a girl in the swamp. Couldn't see her but there was an upset voice coming from nowhere. Time was after midnight.

Yep I’ve heard it too, definitely something spooky going on in the swamp!

Yeah, did that mission, was a pretty cool one actually. Don’t think you get anything from it though, picked up a really cool knife but disappeared from my inventory since

Ok so I spent several nights in the swamp and it's not a safe place. Besides the gators and poisonous snakes, you got the "Night people" who are constantly messing with you. I will post what I uncovered later. Ghosts and crazies are everywhere.  :o

And, stumbled onto this. A large crater from a meteorite. In the middle you can take a piece of the meteorite as a souvenir.

And if you see shit like this anywhere in the swamp area at night (bodies tied to, or hanging from the trees), get the shot gun and dead eye ready...

Hung around those swamps for a while looking for that ghost, saw her briefly I think but didn’t get close at all.
Walking around the swamps at night, it’s kind of amazing how scary they managed to make the game at times. With night folks, ghosts etc the swamps are a truest scary place. Almost like the game is a horror game at some points. Makes me even more hyped for a potential undead nightmare 2(vampires instead of zombies would be really cool I think though)

Found this tiny church out in the middle of the swamp. It's so odd looking in game.

The swamp isn't the only place that has "night people"!  Far up in the northeast part of the map, north of Annesburg there are hillbilly night people that aren't very friendly at all. Went to set up camp and two of them came out of nowhere and threatened me, but I shot them both as soon as the cut scene ended.  THEN, I was walking in the woods just minding my own business doing a little hunting and these hellbillies came out of nowhere...purposefully provoking me to chase them on foot when I fell into a trap they made (a pit covered with leaves and branches). I shot them all and was able to escape. This game continues to surprise me! I should have recorded all that but I was actually in shock....not sure what surprised me the most....the actual event or me being able to make it out alive.

I LOVE this game!

Mrs Marston, those hillbillies are actually part of the Murfree Brood, which is a gang in the game.  They will ambush the shit out of you day or night and in lots of different ways.
This sure beats milking cows!

Yea, that's what I figured that they are part of a gang. I am used to the old RDR where gangs were only in their hideouts. That's what makes this game so interesting! I am going to have to go back up there to help that widow, so I will see what those crazies do to me this time around! LOL!
