So I changed my settings based on the videos I posted.  There was a dramatic improvement.
I still have to adjust a bit, but I am doing much better than with the standard settings I was using.

Now to learn the new maps.

Yup, I'm gonna wait and see how much they lower prices on stuff!  They really need to...it's ridiculous.

I have the Ultimate Edition so I got the Varmint rifle, pump action and volcanic for free.

Another thing...I don't know if it's me being slow...but there's no time to concentrate on a head shot sometimes!  I start to aim and I'm already one-shotted dead!

I refuse to give up though....I'm determined to "git gud".  lol

U have to be quick. Watch kazzy's video i commented on recently and watch my rdr1 youtube page as i havent posted vids for rdr2 in my new youtube yet. Or go to my recent captures on the xbox or the xbox app. I have some good headshots in those.

Here is the bottom line: the headshot is known as the flick because its a quick flicking motion. Lock and flick upward. Which is why my aim sensitivtiy is all the way up, it allows for a quicker flick.

When i come on tomorrow, we practice in free roam. I remember in rdr1 when Vegun was a super legend he created a headshot boot camp for beginners. And since he no longer a super legend in rdr2 but a super noob. Then i will hijack his boot camp and name it P-Bear's headshot boot camp. I got ya girl but as long as u buy a red bandana for pvp. Thats the new RRR signature when in PVP. They cheap about 6 bucks.

I got my red bandana! And made the change to my gamertag....RRR Meleana. Sorry I didn't catch you on the other day....think our time zones are way different maybe. I mostly play at night.

Whenever any of you guys see me on and you feel like playing....I'm up for anything: PvP, hunting, rooftopping, missions or whatever.....just send me an invite! And like I said somewhere else, I don't join parties unless invited. (I'm kinda shy that way and think it's rude to just join without being invited)

About time on the red bandana noob 😁

Im in germany so im 7 hrs ahead but been grinding till 2 to 3am since beta release. Shooting mother fuckers up in PVP, chilling with best red dead friends a gunslinger can ask for, and chasing the hottest gamer chick in the world around. So P-Bear is always on minus the 4 hrs i need to sleep 😁

U need to just join our party, most of us play PVP so normally we in a match. I recommend just jumping in our party and we will welcome u with open arms 😁

Yea, I almost bought the $20 bandana which I like better!  :P

Ok, well...maybe I will catch you all on sometime and I will join. As far as PvP goes...I tried most of the suggestions and I don't think I'm cut out for it...everyone is getting better at it and I'm just getting worse and worse.  The shooting is sooo different from single player...I'm pretty damn good in single player...LOL.   I will be really really happy if and when they add private sessions and more things to do co-op-wise.

It ain't you, PvP in this game is actual trash. Rockstar had 8 years to better spawns and didn't.
Apples taste good and you can throw them if your being attacked

Yup, I'm seeing this reaction more and more. It's really a shame....like I've said before, we've all waited so long for this game and it's turned into a big disappointment for some.

I am helping a friend level up right now so he can get his fishing pole so we can fish and hunt....going wait for them to add private sessions or force one for now and I will be happy doing hideouts and missions. I am always up for rooftopping or other casual fun stuff but that's about it for now.

Probably going to do another play through on single player. They hit the mark on single player at least! Sorry guys, don't mean to be a Negative Nancy, but...it is what it is....

I played quite a few PVP matches this weekend and met with limited success.  :/

I am improving, but not at the rate I'd like.

I may have pinpointed a few problems.
Does anyone know of a way to turn around quickly in PVP?  It would be helpful at spawn points.  :(
Has anyone found a way to win wrestling matches in PVP?
Does anyone have an opinion on the Ability Card Slow and Steady vs Paint It Black for PVP?

Thanks!

There is no real way to spin around quickly or look behind you like you can on a horse.
winning wrestling you need to get out of it and be fast enough to equip either a shotgun or hatchet and without using LT just hip fire it. So far that is the only way I have won.
Paint it black is superior solely because of how quickly dead eye is used up. if you can find a way to replenish dead eye as fast as you use it then maybe slow and steady might be helpful. I found dead eye only useful in very small circumstances in rdr2 whereas in red dead you would use it to reload weapons, tke out guys quickly or hit ones that were a little too far away. It also lasted a lot longer and was replenishable through boxes. I guess if you wanted to drink potions constantly to keep it up slow and steady might be worth it.

Hey everyone! Dirty Coyote/EPTMofisto here (call me Coyote). Just to let you know, I’m no longer on xbox. I have converted to playstation under the gamer tag DirtyCoyotesFam. My kids have claimed my old xbox account (under the same gamertag), and while we have RDR 2 for both platforms, I play exclusively on the PS network and don’t plan to play the game on xbox. So if you’re on PS 4, then send me a friend request and we’ll hang.

Anyway, utb1528, I plan to post my thoughts on this game, as well as some things I’ve learned playing thus far. But for now, I can help you with a few questions you have--

1. “Does anyone know of a way to turn around quickly in PVP?”    Yeah, when someone fires at you from behind dodge out of the way/to the side, and then dodge again, only this time do it while turning around to face their direction. Or you can stay low (ducking) while moving fast (I have my settings to where I press the button one time to run) which lets you do a kinda old school 360 move when turning around.

2. “Has anyone found a way to win wrestling matches in PVP?”    I have a method and have not lost a single ground fight sense implementing it. All you gave to do is starve yourself and get underweight. You’ll take a hit on Health and what not, but seeing as how ground fights are stamina based, you’ll be regenerating stamina while you’re using it. Also, certain perks involving stamina and close corders/unarmed/melee combat can help as well. Oh, and more stamina means more dodging, so if you can out dodge your opponent until they run outta stamina, then you got your kill served to you on a silver platter.

Anyway, I’m gonna respond to other posts here on the forums later tonight. See you soon!

Slow and steady is the best ability card available imo, I wasn't a believer until I tried it myself, but it's not perfect.  If it does fit your playstyle though , you will enjoy it.   I will probably alternate between that and paint it black for given situations, but it's definitely staying in most cases.  It breaks the varmint rifle which makes me happy.
