I've cleared 89 hideouts, according to the buckle tracker and gotten 3 treasure maps total.  Fwiw.

I still like doing them, but stopped trying to farm them.

Papa Casey Craig and floof and I ended up in a session with no one else tonight and got a second to test out some radar stuff before others joined.

We have confirmed a number of theories involving the radar:  shooting does not cause you to show up.  Spring does not cause you to show up.  Your character looking at someone does not cause them to show up.  Your camera has to see them for them to show up, which confirms my theory about spinning your camera around periodically.   Once you have engaged with them they stay showing up for a short period of time in your vicinity, but in order to initiate them showing up in a standard session (not most wanted where the top player shows up) your camera has to see them.

Sometimes shooting nearby causes that red flicker of a rash to show up, but it’s not a for sure thing.  I hid behind a mountain and papa was shooting on the other side.  He did not show up, although there was a minor flicker of that rash, but it was super brief so I’m still not sure what causes that specifically.

What setting do you guys have your aim sensitivities on? All the way or 3/4?  I have started to experiment with those settings.

And can someone tell me if the camera high, low, or off setting does anything in PVP?

Cheers and thanks for you input always appreciated  :)

Also can someone tell me how to disable the RB button, is it possible?
I keep hitting it by mistake and going for the nearest or longest cover getting me killed in that stupid animation thingy.  (whip)  :-[
Ability Cards??  They don't matter if you have NO ability!

I reccomend the aim sensitivity is set low, the reason being it's all about the head shot, it may seem counter intuitive but you don't want to set the aim sensitivity high as it will over shoot the head when you do the flick upward motion.

As for disabling RB , perhaps a Scuff or Elite type controller would help, if yoiu can map RB to something else?

I have my sensitivity set high.  It’s tough for like 10 minutes but once you get used to it you’re just faster.

Scratching Post, trout farm.

Head down to an old RDR1 haunt, gaptooth ridge, Scratching post..... Trout spawning.

This is a weird glitch moment, they are actually spawning next to a horse trough.

Thanks for sharing your testing, it's good to know.  Weird that hostile territory has player locations always visible.

I keep aim sensitivity to maximum fwiw.

Sorry I don't have any fancy strategies for PvP regarding guns or cards. But, for those of us that just like to hunt/fish/explore and don't want anyone around to bother you, here's a little tip that works...before you load into the game, decide where you want to go and then choose the area that is at the opposite end of the map. When you load in, just fast travel to your intended location.  For some reason whenever you spawn into the game initially there will be lots of players in that same location and not at the other parts of the map or at least not nearly as many.  So, if you want to go to Blackwater, choose St. Denis area (Lemoyne) and then fast travel to Blackwater or other parts of New Austin.

Some of you may already know this....but maybe some don't.

Those Gang hideouts that never spawn in there location on the map......... Apparently if you carry an animal carcass on the back of you horse, they spawn.

worked with me a few times, think there is something in the theory.

The carcass on the horse actually does work. It's the only way I can get them to pop up.

Also. If you have a carcass on a horse and get killed, then don't whistle for horse (run to it) otherwise the carcass disappears.

Remember back in the day on RDR1, when we used to wallbreached into locked buildings...…. well that tradition continues on RDO.
