Graphics Comparison
« on: April 24, 2010, 12:14:11 PM »
Interesting fact:  Capcom Announced at the 2008 E3 that Red Dead Revolver 2 was in development.  Never happened, obviously.

Graphics Comparison - RD Redemption Vs. RD Revolver

I was actually surprised by some of the Revolver screens. Now having done this, I would have to say that, overall, the graphics in RD Revolver were better than GUN.  Except the character modeling, which was pretty bad in Revolver, imo.

Video Comparison

Here is a video that Arxin found of the original Capcom Promo for RD Revolver. An amazing find!

A Fan Mashup of Red Dead Redemption

This one is at the R* Youtube channel and there are a bunch of very cool RDR Mashup vids! (link below)

This one is done to Bon Jovi's "Dead or Alive"...friggin beautiful.  Whole thing is amazing, but first 70 seconds or so are breathtaking! Best RDR video Ive seen yet...

Wow Red Dead Revolver looks kinda shitty compared to Redemption. I understand that it is on a older system and was a few years ago but i did play Revolver a few times, i didnt buy it myself however but back then i thought the graphics were pretty good. Just shows how far gaming has come along in such a short space of time.

Graphics sure ain't the first thing I look for in a game, but Redemption does look beautiful in comparison. Though you can't blame Revolver for this, the game industry is advancing in graphical qualities quickly.

Also, Gun was awesome too.

Revolver was originally developed by Konami I belive. R* bought the rights to it after Konami scrapped the project  and capcom bought it then also scrapped it also. That didnt leave R* much time to do anything with it. Game looks shitty but look at the last comparison. The sky looks about the same.

I wouldn't say it looks shitty. It looks decent for a previous generation game.

Pretty sure you mean Capcom. I think they owned it all along, I don't think Konami had anything to do with it.

Speaking of Red Dead Revolver, I think I might find my copy again later and see if I can make it through the game without the memory card corrupting the save game. Recent knowledge may be a help to that Red Dead wiki.

Yeah, would be pretty helpful, since there's not much information about Revolver at the wiki now.

It's truly amazing from what games have come from with graphics and gameplay. I remember when i was young and all i had was a gameboy and a nintendo64 which was pretty awesome back then.

Well that won't be happening right away. I found my RDR copy but the last of my 5 PS2 controllers finally fucked off to the grave.

It's so funny, because I always remember older games having amazing graphics as well, and then when I go back and look at them, I'm like "Seriously?! I don't remember it looking like that!" lol

Older games did look amazing at the time, but now we're used to better visuals.
