I agree Finland, I don't like either covers, but if I had to pick, RDR(1) would be the better most certainly!

Don't like either? I know what people's complaints were with the new Redemption cover but I'm not seeing much wrong with Revolver's.

I'd have much liked this one for Redemption instead of the one they're going with though.

Still, a cover is a cover. It's not going to change the game for the worse in any way.

I like the art style in the cover of Redemption, but John looks really lame in the picture. It doesn't make it look like a western, only when you notice the horses in the background; but covers are supposed to be eye catching. I'd pass this game up if I didn't look into it.

In revolver it makes the main character look Australian, I don't know why.

Overall I'm glad they didn't go with the GTA style of cover, that would have been too much.

I would've gone with that one too, Reconite.

It says R* presents. It could have the picture of a rotten carrot on the front because if R* makes it, I buy it. :D

Simple as that! (Although, I do prefer the original RDR cover to the current one. :()

I think Redemption's box-art is kinda weak.  The background looks great, but the actual picture of Marston is a poor choice IMO.  I think this is much more interesting artwork of him:

Firstly, because its his default in-game clothes.  I think that makes it a better representation of Marston's character than the dress shirt-vest-no hat thing the box art has.

Secondly, because it has a more interesting silhouette.  Place this image on the boxart's red background, put them side by side and step back 20 feet.  Guarantee this pic of Marston will stand out way better than the official box art and tell you exactly what the game is:  A western game.  Which brings me to my third point:

Its much more 'Westerny'.  The gunfighter with his hat and revolver is an iconic image, especially in the pose they have Marston in there.  Just suits the game better IMO.

Edit:  No automatic image resize?  Really?  Thats weird.

Edit2: There we go.

Edit3: Fuck it.

I actually like the current cover...Marston has a "Deadwood" look about him.

And R* has said over and over that this is about how the west was lost and how they want it to be more combomation of how the west really was and how it was represented in Spaghetti Westerns.

I believe folks looked more like the current cover than Clint Eastwood.

IMO  :)

Sorry for the double post but what would of been cool was if they would of done multiple cover arts and sold them differently

RD Revolver was good, but it really didn't have any replay value for me due to its linear format. I coulda swore that when it was in development, R* said that it was supposed to be more open and sandboxed, like RD Redemption is now.

No, the main character in Revolver is Red Harlow. They do look similar though.

Why do the buildings look so cartoony?

Because, my fine feathered friend, they were going for cartoony and stylised rather than realistic.

Considering some of the enemies (like Capt Daren) going for a realistic approach would have seemed a incongrous.

RDRevolver is a great title, still a blast, great local multiplayer, do yourself a favour if you like Western games, it's better than GUN by a street.
