Nah mate, they aren't even on the same system so comparing the two graphically is pointless.

RD Redemption is half the game Revolver was.

Could have sworn I told you to stfu... :dodgy:

You don't read so good, huh...

Wasn't revolver made 6 years ago? theres bound to be some seriously big differences. If redemption was put onto the same system, it would probably have similar graphics.
Boss Spearman: \"We came for justice not vengeance. Now them is two different things.\"
Charley Waite: \"Not today they ain\'t.\"

Indeed, Revolver looks incredibly dated compared to Redemption but that's no surprise.

X-Box live gamertag and PSN ID: EffOne2008. Feel free to add. Or not.... :D

Yea...we new the differences would be huge, but I made this thread before the game came out and we were all desperate to have something to talk about at the time when it came to RDR...lol

RED DEAD REDEMPTION is a beautiful game with detailed graphics, but it tends to lack the Spaghetti Western look that so permeates every composition in RED DEAD REVOLVER.  From music (using actual tracks from famous Spaghetti Westerns) to effects to art direction, RED DEAD REVOLVER may be "basic" when it comes to modern graphics, but it weaves a very distinct (and I'd argue successful) Spaghetti Western story, setting, and tone -- whereas RED DEAD REDEMPTION is detailed but tells a more mainstream Western story and has a more "generic" -- albeit beautiful -- Western look.  RED DEAD REDEMPTION flirts at points with a Spaghetti Western tone, but it certainly doesn't keep that tone throughout the game.  Am I saying RED DEAD REDEMPTION is bad?  No, but it doesn't scream in look, sound, and gameplay "Spaghetti West" like RED DEAD REVOLVER.  For my money, I had hoped that RED DEAD REDEMPTION would build upon the strong Spaghetti Western theme (art direction, music, etc.) started with RED DEAD REVOLVER, but it seems Rockstar was more interested in a detailed, open, more "generic" Western world than the very "specific" Spaghetti West modeled on '60's Italian Westerns and used for RED DEAD REVOLVER.

As for any comparison between RED DEAD REVOLVER and GUN, again GUN is also an attempt at an open -- and somewhat realistic -- world.  RED DEAD REVOLVER isn't interested in open world or realism -- just the Spaghetti Western aesthetic and tone.  GUN is fun, but it isn't as fully realized -- and stylized -- as RED DEAD REVOLVER.  For an arcade shooter that hits the Spaghetti Western dead-on, RED DEAD REVOLVER is a great game.

We think Red Dead Revolver looks shitty compared to RD Redemption today.

So tell me... What are we going to say about RD Redemption  5 years later?

Well, maybe I'm in the minority, but other than RED DEAD REVOLVER not being HD, I think it looks great -- albeit minimalist and stylized (some might call this "cartoony").  It kind of reminds me of the argument against old 2D hand-painted Disney films vs. the new 3D animated movies.  Yes, there are amazing things that can be done now, but some of those old animated movies are great works of art...  although too often not appreciated by a new audience (they don't look "real").

IM SORRY!!

(For some reason my posts get messed up, hence the fact of a double post. Usually it just clones my text under a line on one post, but now it double posted!)
