Red Dead Redemption 2 / Rockstar Games was at E3 2018
« on: June 15, 2018, 09:41:14 PM »
Supposedly there was a private showing of RDR2 game play at E3. Seems to me that it won't be long now before we get to see it too!

Looks like we will have another treasure hunt in GTAV Online to unlock something for RDR2. They say that this game will be massive and include lots of activities, mini-games, side missions along with main story missions. Sounds like the level of detail they have for this game will let the player take their time to explore every area of the map with more things to do and interact with. No more empty spaces with nothing to do. Hopefully they will have more open buildings that you can go they say you can go into a house and open drawers to steal items. It sounds like we are going to have to search very deeply to find things! I love that because I love to explore! We are going to have weapons that are very realistic as far as reloading times and such, but they said that they will balance that out between the realism and having fun.

Red Dead Redemption 2 / Blackwater Massacre of 1899
« on: May 03, 2018, 07:50:38 PM »
This is from the Red Dead Wiki and is nothing new but I don't think I've ever read it unless it's a new entry. It will be interesting to see how many characters they will include in this prequel. Maybe Ricketts will be in the game!

The Blackwater Massacre was a bloody gunfight that took place in the town of Blackwater in 1899. The actual cause of the gunfight remains a mystery. The massacre gained wide publicity due to the amount of men killed and the fact that it took place in such a highly populated and modernized town.

Not much is known about the cause of the battle, only that it involved several lawmen and outlaws. This is likely due to the fact that most of the civilians present didn't know what started the battle and the police have since covered up most of the story. It is possible that much of the story has changed over time and the massacre is known as more of a myth than an actual event because of the mystery surrounding it.

According to accounts of the incident, as many as 37 men were killed, consisting of 22 outlaws and 15 members of the Blackwater Police Department. Although no exact number is known, it is believed that civilian casualties were minimal.

It is fairly possible that Cole MacFarlane, one of Bonnie MacFarlane's late brothers, was one of the victims of the massacre. The evidence behind this is that early in the game, Bonnie says that her brothers died either from foolish choices or sickness. Seeing as how Cole died in 1899 from a bullet wound in the head, it is possible that he was involved in the Massacre.

Landon Ricketts is supposedly one of the only surviving lawman of the incident. The massacre apparently led him to move south of the border to Chuparosa. His status as one of the only survivors has made him popular and given him a legendary status through West Elizabeth and beyond. Judging by the quotes of Willie Oats, he too could have been a survivor.

Willie Oats is believed to have survived the Blackwater Massacre, as he states "I'm never going back to Blackwater especially after what happened in 1899."

Gaming / Xbox One Alpha Ring Update Re: Mixer
« on: March 04, 2018, 07:45:04 PM »
Wasn't sure where to post this. Mixer is fairly new to most of us and I know that some of us have been testing it out. There has been more discussion regarding streaming and trying to get people interested as we get closer to RDR2's release! I really hope we can get people together to make this happen.....hoping some older members return to the forums and/or gaming in general as well as attract new members.

Anyway, I was about to turn on my Xbox aaaand there's an update (damn alpha preview program) that's like 3.5GB!!! I was hoping that it included the new avatars they announced last year, so I tried searching on the internet for what this new update might include and found this:

A New Level of Mixer Interactivity

Introducing a new form of Mixer interactivity: Share controller. Now Mixer streamers on Xbox One have the option of sharing their controller with a Mixer viewer who is watching through Streamers can share their entire controller (except the Xbox button) in the Xbox game they are playing, and a viewer can take control through the on-screen gamepad or by plugging a controller into their PC. Viewer and streamer can work together in the game, or the viewer can cause trouble – resulting in hilarious chaos. It's your choice!

I only had to try this game out once (rented it from Red box) and I am absolutely in LOVE with it! I don't have a 4K tv, just a regular average LED, but the graphics are out of this world! I LOVE the camera mode and have taken too many photos already and I'm only a level 13. I know that Ubisoft has had some bad issues with their other AC games but this one is simply a work of art and is very different than the other AC games (I think) as far as combat controls (which I'm still getting used to). Those of you who have played Witcher 3 you will see many similarities which is what sets it apart from the other AC games.

Long story short.....if you haven't tried it....get it! I just went all out and purchased the Gold Edition! Xbox is having a sale right now on all Ubisoft games. $99.99 value for only $66.99 which is just a little bit more than the cost of just the base game at full price.

Red Dead Redemption 2 / When will RDR2 release in 2018?
« on: November 15, 2017, 01:04:38 PM »
Was curious as to what everybody is thinking exactly when RDR2 will officially release!

I am getting really impatient now for some more news or another trailer! Is it too early yet or should they have something pretty soon?

As far as an official release date, I am hoping for March. April would be OK. And May would be the latest - I think - that would still be considered springtime AND would mark an 8 year anniversary of RDR's release. Unless, they delay it again...(they better not!)

Was just wondering what everyone is using to host images for their signatures or other picture sharing. Since Photobucket kicked the bucket, what is the best one to use that is free?

Note: wasn't sure where to post this....feel free to move this to a more suitable location.

Anyone play the free beta they had a couple of weeks ago? I remember hearing about this game at E3 or somewhere and I thought I wouldn't be interested at all, but I thought wrong...I loved playing the beta. It was released yesterday (12/2)...I can't get it right now, but maybe if it goes on sale eventually. Probably rent it as soon as it comes out on Redbox. Anyone else try it out or going to get it? You can play with up to 4 people online.

I absolutely love, love, LOVE this new show!

At first I thought they were just going to copy off the original movie and then they will run out of ideas and it will flop. But is really good if you haven't checked it out yet! It's never's not one of those shows where you have to listen to them figure out how to solve the case and then you get to see the action in the last 10 minutes of the show. Nope, not here! There's action and suspense for most of the show! It's great! See for yourself. If you miss it they have episodes you can catch up with online and also there's an app on Xbox One called FOXNOW.

Did anyone take advantage of the free weekend they had for this game? It was Thurs thru Mon....I was able to play on Thurs with no problems then after that I couldn't log into their servers. Did anyone else have this problem? I heard that a lot of people did. I even sent in a support ticket and tried everything they told me. I think that it was just their servers were overcrowded because of the free weekend.

I do not have the game but I have played it before (with no connection problems) when I rented it from Redbox. I was thinking of getting it but if it has connection problems, I don't want to deal with that! So, does anyone have this game and did you have problems over the weekend? Now that the weekend is over are you able to play online? Just wondering.

Well, what a let-down! I guess it was wishful thinking that I was going to be playing RDR tonight on my One. The list of 360 games that are available to play on the Xbox One is pretty lame. The only game that I have is COJ: Gunslinger...and I really didn't care for that game at all.

Hopefully more games will be available soon.

Damn you, Playstation! I would get this game for sure! Looks a little like Assassin's Creed meets zombies/mutants!

What do you guys think...all hype or GOTY material?

I have never played the other games of the Witcher.....but I am fascinated by this new one.

Has anyone ever played the other Witcher games? Anyone planning on getting this one?

Doesn't look like they've ever made a multiplayer?.... tis a shame.

Red Dead Redemption is one of the most beautiful games of the PS3 and Xbox 360 generation. No arguments.

Just look at Red Dead Redemption’s incredible landscapes in the video above. Terrific. I wish I had time for another replay.

This is the latest entry in Andy Kelly‘s wonderful Other Places series; check out his YouTube channel or the Other Places website for more for more episodes including Skyrim, Tomb Raider and DayZ.

Red Dead Redemption won a lot of awards, achieved mass critical and fan acclaim, and sold like hotcakes. While its gameplay loop was fun and it told a pretty interesting story, for me it was Rockstar’s incredible environmental design that won the day.

We expect a Red Dead Redemption sequel eventually but I for one am happy to wait; once-in-a-generation experiences like Redemption don’t just happen overnight. You know, since it never made it off PS3 and Xbox 360, I think I’d almost be satisfied with an HD port for PC and new consoles.
