I've got the Stone Tomahawk....kinda wish it was another type of gun....but the added rage ability is fun!

Mrs M gets my vote to take control of the Facebook page and twitter account. It’s good of her to offer.

Sile! I don't want to take control of anything!  I am very limited on my resources as far as my technical abilities go, but I am willing to help out a little.

I don’t follow the Twitter(don’t have it) or Facebook, but wondering what kind of promotion we would do on a moment when R* posts a trailer? We’ve much more followers on FB and Twitter, with much more people likely to see things. Do we do a thing where we’d say “Here’s the new trailer... join us to discuss in (link to thread we’re discussing here). I know we do didn’t have the opportunity this time, but I presume we do that in normal cases?

Yea, that's one of the many ways to promote and I see we already do that on Facebook. But, as I've been watching Twitter users, Mixer streamers and YouTubers, they all use a variety of ways to promote and generate traffic.  I think the key is being very active and very interactive with followers.

A YouTuber (or on Mixer) will do a live stream of RDR. Get people to follow. Stay in contact with those followers thru Twitter, Discord or Facebook and maybe even here at the forum to inform them of the next stream, latest news or rumors on RDR2.  I guess it helps to already have some sort of following, too.

I think we've talked about this before.....Chalk, I know you have plans and ideas for streaming on Mixer. (I'm not trying to take your ideas and make them mine or anything here) I've been watching some streamers and they will show some gameplay (rdr in this case) and the chat gets busy, they get followers....or they will host an online session and get viewers to join.  It builds up hype for RDR2 and then we can come up with more ideas on what to do once that long awaited day of Oct. 26th is here!

Yeah I generally will retweet anything official from Rockstars twitter account, as well as do various posts asking for feedback etc. Sometimes will point to a topic here if relevant. I want to try and be more active with it but its tricky with work and other commitments.

I am also starting to get more involved in streaming sites like Mixer and hosting people playing the game. Planting the seeds to running some competitive style MP games when the game launches.

That said if anyone is willing to help I am happy to give you access to the facebook/twitter accounts.

Totally understand about having other commitments and dealing with work schedules. I think we can all relate to that on some level. That's why I don't think this responsibility of running the forum plus Mixer/Twitter/Facebook should be on only one person's shoulders.  I just hope that we can all do something...even if it's just a little help out. When one person isn't available another can take up the slack.

I wouldn't mind helping out as an assistant on Facebook or Twitter.  I have not been getting very many hours at work at the moment. I really need to change that and find other work due to financial problems. But, I generally only work part time. So it wouldn't be too hard to stay active trying to promote and post news. I'd like to try anyway....if I don't work out and you guys get someone else more hard feelings.  I think we need to start something before the next gameplay video is released.

OMG! The entire trailer was awesome! When I first watched it I was actually in shock...I was so blown away!  I keep watching it almost every day!

But, yea...the horses movements and the scene were Arthur is shooting on horseback...I was amazed at the level of control of the horse that the player has. I can not wait to bond with my horses. I wonder if that same bonding will continue over to online?

The fist fighting scenes were pretty awesome...looking forward to getting Arthur into some good fighting!

All the different scenery and landscapes were amazing....I can not wait to explore the map.  It looks like there will definitely be some dynamic weather conditions!

During the campfire sappy as it may be.....I loved seeing John, Abigail and Jack sitting together!  Cannot wait to hear the backstory about John and Abigail met and all.

Looks as though we are not going to get a boring and overly serious story line. Loved the little witty dialogue when the trailer first started....Dutch breaks Arthur out of jail and says "are you coming......buddy?" The way he said it gives Dutch and unexpected personality.  Later, when Arthur is talking to two other gang members, discussing a robbery or something, he says "as long as we get the money or you get shot, I'm happy!"  He's going to be a badass with an attitude!

I could go on and on.....

Since I have pre-ordered digitally it said that the download will be available on 10/25 @ 11:00 pm, so I am going to be downloading it at that time for sure and then it will probably turn into an all-nighter with lots of coffee! LOL! Also, thinking about requesting off on the 25th and 26th. Most likely will be playing the hell out of it daily!  Which reminds me....should have an extra supply of rechargeable batteries for the controller!

LOL, Craigy.....that's true!

Well, I am glad to see that the forum is back. But, I wonder if people are more active in other types of social media, meaning the message boards or forum communities are being replaced by Twitter, Mixer or Discord.  Lately, I have been active on Twitter and there is A LOT of discussion about Red Dead on there. The more popular Twitter users have large followings and seem to be very active daily and that attracts people....then they, I guess, direct that interest to YouTube, Mixer, web sites, etc....

So, what I am trying to say is maybe we should be more active on Twitter or where ever it is that the discussion is very active and try and direct those followers here. I wish I could help out in some way...would love to get a stream going on Mixer. I don't want to commit to something and then not be able to follow through with it for what ever reason.

What do you guys think?  I really don't want to see this place die. Maybe those of us diehards that still come here can do something to help out....even if it's just only a little bit...something to kick-start this place. I know that work and life in general gets in the way of doing more. Got to come up with some ideas maybe......

Official News / Re: Release date announced! October 26th 2018!

3 months until release day. I thought activity would have picked up around here by now.

What was this place like 3 months before RDR was released?

I know it, Sile...I hope that people haven't given up on this place! :(

Good luck with your moving, Craigy and congrats on your new house!

I really think that Max Payne 4 should be the next Rockstar game release.

Right now Xbox live gold is on sale through the Microsoft site. 1 year for $40/£26.

Yea, I saw that....never fails, almost always goes on sale when I already bought it in May!  2 months too late...if it was like a couple of weeks to a month or two BEFORE my gold is ready to expire, then I would get it.

Just got Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell Conviction for free on Games with Gold.  Combat mechanics are really weird! Left trigger is aim, but only in cover, so I keep crouching when not in cover. Marking enemies is sort of like dead eye in RDR, but you have to perform a takedown to get to mark 2 enemies and only 2. Glad it was free. It was made in 2010 - same as RDR - shows how much Rockstar is leaps and bounds ahead of the competition!  Really anxious to see what the combat mechanics will be like in RDR2!!

Red Dead Redemption 2 / Re: A comic to pump you up for RDR 2

Hopefully the fist-fighting mechanics will be improved. Like not dying from just a couple of hits....maybe instead you just pass out for a bit and wake up in the street or at the doctor's office.  Or maybe you will have to stop fighting when the law gets after you.  That would be much more realistic.

Just got done watching Josey Wales with Eastwood....and I can't help thinking ...gawd, I can't wait for that damn game to come out already. So, I don't need much to get me pumped up! LOL!

I know, VMB....I so miss Fergie talking about how hot his GTA character is and how he wishes he could have his character in RDR2. Yup, I really miss all that.....

You better be careful, Sile.....someone will sabotage your user name and really piss ya off!

Feck that, I’m outta here.

OK, now I know you really are sound like Ferg! LOL! But, you had me going there for a minute!

The little green square next to your name indicates that you are online on the forum....unless you choose to hide offline.

Just get an Xbox One and you can chat with your Xbox friends!  LOL!  Just teasin' ya...  Well, I heard that Xbox will make it where you can chat with your friends whether they are on console or on the Windows 10 Xbox app....I thought that that was already possible but maybe they are making improvements or something. I do have a Steam account but haven't really checked it out much - my computer is old and I doubt that any of those games will run smoothly.  I tried Discord, but don't really care for it.  I like my Xbox parties or game chat.

Magnum, PI!! That was my favorite show...saw every episode!

Just got home from work. Having a little late dinner and getting ready to fire up the Xbox soon!

Can't wait until RDR2 is finally here....I am looking forward to getting immersed in a game again. Spending hours everyday playing. Just hope that others will too......

Red Dead Redemption 2 / Rockstar Games was at E3 2018

Supposedly there was a private showing of RDR2 game play at E3. Seems to me that it won't be long now before we get to see it too!

Assassin's Creed Odyssey looks great and I like how you get to choose either a male or female character!  It looks like they enhanced the fighting mechanics a little bit. But, overall if it's anything like Origins I am sure it will be a hit. I might not get it day one, but it will be on my wish list!

I am also slightly interested in The Division 2 and Cyberpunk 2077 has me intrigued.  But, what I am so very jealous about is Death Stranding being exclusive to PS4! I am so freaking interested in what the heck that game is about!? If any of you get must stream the entire game so I can see it! LOL!

I didn't watch much of E3, I just looked up the videos for the games I have interest in and that's it really.  No other game, IMO, can top RDR2 right now.

Forgot to mention Days Gone....that looks pretty good!  But, yet another PS4 exclusive!  It just ain't fair!

There really is no other game that I am interested in at the moment other than RDR2.

Only thing I like to find out more about is Assassin's Creed Odyssey which takes place in Greece.

And, I am jellies of those in areas that can get spring-time weather! Here in FL, we are in full-blown summer with all the wonderful heat and humidity. Already getting the afternoon showers/storms that go away sometimes in minutes.

I have not been working so many hours except when it's convenient for my employer (retail) to give me more hours when it's busy. Looking to find work elsewhere, but it's not so easy for me.  In my spare time, I still get on the old xbox....been dividing my time between Far Cry 5 and AC Origins and I am still a loyal GTA5 Online player.  As much as I love all those games I have been playing, somehow it seems that I'm in limbo waiting....waiting for that game I just can't stop playing....waiting for RDR2!!  Do any of you guys feel that way, too?

Chalk, I am definitely interested in participating in whatever events you have planned for RDR2. Well, when I far as finding time after work and dealing with different time zones. I am looking forward to playing RDR2 with everyone here.  If I am not one of the streamers, I would like to be a part of whatever is going on! I can't wait and I am sure it's going to be fun!

The only channel on Mixer I have for Red Dead Forums is the one you set up in the TEAM that the same one you're talking about or is it a different one?
