Announcements / Re: Red Dead Forums Mixer account

Get the mixer app on a phone or pc and watch a bit. It will be from the player’s view like twitch. You can also have 4 people co-stream the same game and viewer will see a 4 screen display of the game. Also cool is the feature where you can let a viewer take over your control and play your game from their console! Pretty neat I think.

This has great potential for clan wars etc.

Red Dead Redemption 2 / Re: Online Character
« on: October 10, 2018, 08:14:35 AM »
Already wasting thoughts on how to dress my online character.
I really liked the Miners Faction back in RDR. There was this one guy with a scruffy beard and a red beanie (I think). His shirt was incredibly dirty (Miner) and he wore heavy pants and boots. That's how I'm going to dress my online character. A malnourished, dirty, hairy bottom dweller. My horse will be a Sorrel Quarter Horse. My guns will get a blued, used look with bone handles. What about you?

ah a Slow - Mo Hobo Mofo then?

Personally I will be looking for something boringly practical perhaps, what I mean by that is in Max Payne 3 it was rumored that female characters had smaller hit boxes, and me being a fan of female boxes.... anyway I would opt for a character that perhaps wears dark colours, or shades of western brown to blend in a bit, essentially anything that will him them less of a target.

The other option would be to make the character as ludicrous as possible, dynamite jewelry a la Pig Josh, giant sombrero, Marty McFly BTF Part III style shirt:

Red Dead Redemption 2 / Re: A theory about the ending (possible spoilers)
« on: September 13, 2018, 08:03:58 AM »
Not really a theory as there’s no evidence to support it - more of a random prediction:

Many westerns have the main character die in the end or ride off in the sunset.  RDR did this when John died. But it creates a problem when you want to keep playing, so they fixed this by you continuing on as Jack Marston...

My idea is if Arthur Morgan dies in the end,or maybe in a twist just rides off and could continue playing on as John Marston.  It seems like an almost poetic twist and would make a lot of fans happy to play as John again.

Would you like this idea or do you hope Our protagonist survives this time?

I'm calling that Marston kills Morgan by the end of the story...

I wonder if gators will be as sneaky and deadly as the cougars were in RDR1? I remember when I first played RDR, hearing a cougar and then in a split second later I was dead.

Unless we can run over them like* James Bond I'm not interested...

* ok more like the  clumsy stunt double...

Just on our way home from Venice, had a great time.  I should hopefully be home before the new trailer drops later.

Had a great time with Wilson in RDR last night :) We did some coop, boating and fighting the law. We also witnessed a fight between NPC's that easily lasted 20 minutes (thumbsup2)
It was good to be back on the prairie :)

Those were the days eh?

I'm starting to get into hype mode for RDR2, six months out, and a news blackout. Hopefully we will get more details to digest soon. I'm planning ahead, clearing the calendar so to speak, the game drops during the Halloween holidays so schools will be out, I was never again for RDR launch, it was nearly a year after the game dropped that I played it so i missed out on all the build up, and even at that I was more into multiplayer but this time around I feel intrigued about the main story too.

I love the photo mode feature and the fact that I can save my photos to a website (just like snapmatics save to the social club on GTA5). My xbox storage gets filled up too quickly.

First of all, we should all be showing @Craigyroo extra support right now. His wee country is experiencing turmoil the likes of which haven’t been seen for a generation.

Inhuman, it’s good to see you around. Maybe we can hook up for some overwatch. Maybe some COD too with craigy, if he’s not fallin down wit the hunger.

I want so little from this game. More competitive play maps, happy to see the battle royale style play, maybe limited character customization, and really just fleshing out more of what the original game could have been. I am concerned that Rockstar is going to fuck this up with massive micro transactions, in game economy, a gtaonline menu system. I don't want to see any first person view in the game. Maybe I am old fashioned that way, but I just want an improved RDR not a Western gta. Still excited to play it though.

100% agree, there's nothing wrong with R* expanding Free Roam and adding more customizing and I'm sure that folks who love FR will be delighted and at the end of the day mirco transactions for cosmetic items  are optional after all,  so long as it isn't at the expense of the quality of gameplay in the likes FFA or Gang Matches etc, I'll be happy .

The suspension and chassis are a bit firmer than a standard Fiesta, which drives great. It also has a turbo and 6 speed gearbox, which makes it accelerate quite fast (thumbsup2)

Mrs Roo is cancer free and also picking up a new Fiesta tomorrow coincidentally, hers is in the blue wave colour, not an RS like your sporty number but a Zetec.

The new Irish hero, Moira is out and she’s great, but I know I’m not alone in thinking that a new Irish hero would be Joe Kelly from Coom.

I see in the YouTube comments someone has transcribed the interview, I didn't realise we had universal translators in real life.

Mikey John O'Shea gives Joe Kelly a good run for his money in the incomprehensible stakes-

Red Dead Redemption 2 / Re: When will RDR2 release in 2018?
« on: November 16, 2017, 08:05:24 AM »
Was curious as to what everybody is thinking exactly when RDR2 will officially release!

I am getting really impatient now for some more news or another trailer!  Is it too early yet or should they have something pretty soon?

As far as an official release date, I am hoping for March. April would be OK.  And May would be the latest - I think - that would still be considered springtime AND would mark an 8 year anniversary of RDR's release.  Unless, they delay it again...(they better not!)

We could open some sort of betting spread , winner gets a smug sense of satisfaction.

They swing about realistically. The fully animated horse scrotum puts it over the top for sure.
