I don't know what they did with all the PvP modes but I know they added another called Overrun. Maybe someone else who plays those could tell ya.

Well, I tested out free roam using the Defensive option. I was in Valentine and a few other players were there too, and no one seemed to be bothering anyone...they were just killing the townsfolk.  It was actually kinda boring...a far cry from the days of RDR1 when you rolled into town, something was always going on especially if someone started a Land Grab.  THIS is what RDO free roam is missing, sadly.

Anyway, had a good time playing poker with a friend and then we did one of the new story missions.  Later on switched over to story mode and the graphics are back to being amazing. What a difference!

So, the play style you choose...offensive or defensive...isn't permanent?  In other words....another useless feature and the tryhards win!

I know....$100 bonus? What a joke! If they think that's an incentive to get people playing the game they are sadly mistaken.

I play RDO once in a while when I see a friend playing and I usually just hunt, fish and do a few stranger missions.  Or I go to the store and buy clothes. My heart isn't into it completely like it was in RDR multiplayer because it feels almost like I'm a generic character just "playing" in a wild west setting...there is absolutely no immersion like there is in story mode. I feel like I'm constantly on the lookout for other players sneaking up on you to take you out.  The blip system is totally messed up...I don't like it at all!  There is no total relaxation and I don't feel like I can do what I want to do to level up (because there's nothing to do anyway)...not like I could in the first RDR.  I could go on and on....I will stop now.  I will play with someone who likes to play and I just tag along for the company...all the while I'm wishing to get back to single player!  I LOVE single player and even though I reached 100% completion I still enjoy playing. Currently working on another play through on another account...but I refuse to start another RDO character....UNLESS they add private sessions down the road.

They are most likely working on GTA6 but I still think it's a bit early for rumors and release dates.  If it's released only on the next gen consoles I won't be getting it.

I will definitely have check that out, VMB!

OMG, Pug...the Witcher 3 was an all around awesome game...I thought I would never finish it there was so much to do!  I think I still need to finish that 2nd DLC and never tried out Game +.

These are fun new missions!  Did all 3 last night by myself. They are a little more challenging than most regular missions...which is good.  The dispatch missions are really too easy.

See?  This is something they need to add to RDO....challenging job missions that you can do solo or with others.

Red Dead Redemption 2 / Re: Achievements and 100% Completion
« on: April 21, 2019, 02:14:12 PM »
I finally got it!  Whoo, hoo!  100%!  This game was SO much fun. If you haven't heard about it...there is a little cut scene once you get 100%.  Was a surprise for me.

Now I will probably finish the achievements....I'm at around 75% for the Zoologist and Skin Deep.  I messed up and didn't finish Lending a Hand and Friends with Benefits. Possibly will have a shot at getting Gold Rush.

Need to finish off the compendium...animals, weapons and cig cards.  I need one more horse! I think it's the Ardennes...does anyone know where this horse is located?

Now I can start another playthrough....this time I will go slow and find all the different camp dialogues and npc interactions....and spend more time as Arthur!

Feedback by @tonko

1. Add Hold your own and Grab the bag, fan favorites from RDR 1
2. Smaller maps, there's too much running for a 7 minute showdown
3. Option to disable ability cards in Showdown cause they're unfair to lower level players
4. Add Mexican Standoff at the start of each shwodown like in RDR 1
5. Bring Back The Announcer like in RDR 1
6. Add fist fighting in waiting lobby like in RDR 1
7. Forced weapon option like in RDR 1
8. Add option to choose which mode we want to play

Remove ability cards completely from Showdown, they make no sense on being there. Unfair to new player, creates unbalanced playing field, takes away from player's freedom, unrealistic for a Western game.
Add classic RDR 1 multiplayer PVP modes. Everyone loved those.

1. Add Nuevo Paraiso with it's locations that fans of RDR 1 loved: Chuparosa, Las Hermanas, Tesoro Azul. You know that's the next logical step and a smart move.

2. Add more prominent ambient music for certain areas like in RDR 1. For example: those trumpets that played in Nuevo Paraiso, New Austin music, Cholla Springs music. Ambient music adds up to the general atmosphere of the world.

1. The following Dead Eye ability cards are overpowered and puts new, low level players in disadvantage: Paint It Black, Slippery Bastard and Unblinking Eye.
When a low level meets a high level in Showdown, he can't do anything

That's because the new generation thinks RDO free roam is another battle royale like PUBG/Fortshite except they ain't gettin' no chicken dinners! It will be interesting to see what free roam will be like when they bring in that new offensive/defensive play style.  My bet is that it will make things worse....much worse than it is now.

I always remember playing RDR1 and getting posse invites from randoms if I didn't have friends playing.  Everyone was friendlier even after a land grab or spawn killing at the entrance of Pikes Basin.  That's how I met most of my RDR friends on 360. There were only a few toxic players....everyone else was just having a good time. Miss those days...

Over all, I really think that the entire concept of Battle Royale has killed online free roam play for the casual gamers.

A location like this would be a good test case.

(Image removed from quote.)

I know exactly where that is!  It is a little bit south of Van Horn...Van Horn mansion or something like that.  When I was playing as Arthur, went down those stairs and there were 2 was laying on the floor and the other was sitting at a table with his head down. I thought they were dead! Then as I looked closer they were moving!  There was some monayy on the table and when I went to take it the guy sitting at the table grabbed Arthur's hand. He started shooting and the other guy got up and started shooting. I was in first person mode and nailed them both with dead-eye!  Definitely was one of the many WTF moments in that game!

But, yea...I was thinking about recreating some of my screenshots for comparison. I mean, just riding around looking at the scenery in the's so dull! Very similar to GTA's graphics.

Ok, the graphics downgrade is significantly noticeable to me. They took away ambient occlusion (had to look that one up)! Maybe the people who don't really notice it are the ones who have an Xbox One X and 4K TV's that have enhanced graphics or those that just don't care about graphics.  Most of my screenshot collection are photos of how light reflects on different things at different times of day/night...those of you on my xbox friend list have seen some of them. I spend quite a bit of time just taking one perfect shot. I enjoy doing that and was what I thought made the game stand out above most other games. Now Rockstar have taken that away from me and many others that enjoy in game photography. Not only was this good for made the game that much more immersive. It felt so real, like you are really there and added to the mood of whatever you were doing depending on where you were.

I paid $100 for this game and after all the hype I expected it to be everything I wanted and more. Or you would expect to at least get your money's worth, right? They have taken away something that we have PAID for, something that was said to be included in the game and was raved about in pre-game screenshots. I have never been so disappointed with Rockstar than I am right now.

And if their reasoning for the downgrade is for what you said, Pug.....this is going to confirm my fears of them eventually making a remake of this game for the next generation of consoles just like they did with GTAV. If my Xbox One or S can't handle a graphics upgrade without affecting overall performance at this early in the game's development as far as new content and updates....this tells me that they might eventually stop supporting old versions of the xbox one and only support the X and whatever else is rumored to be coming out next.  It only makes sense for Rockstar since all they listen to is money, money and more money.....

Logged in last night for a little bit just to buy some new clothes.....aaaaaannnnd now I'm broke....but, now I won't freeze to death when I go up to the Grizzlies.

I have my doubts that Rockstar will add what I want....and basically what most people want (private sessions).  I am trying to have hope that they will make things better for everyone! I mean, they HAVE to do something...people are going to go play other online games and forget about RDO.  I see a lot of people on my friend list that have already moved on to other new co-op games like Division 2...friends that have played RDO and now are bored of it and have not even come back for the updates.

Just read that....I was wondering if they patched the off map to Guarma glitch.  Well, at least I got there a couple of times. That was one of the very few things that I enjoyed doing in that game. Very sad.

Had to update to play story last night. They messed something up with the way the hunting knife is,um..doesn't go into the holster sits above it in a weird position. Have not noticed anything else different or if they messed up anything else in story as a result of this stupid update.

Yea, I heard they dropped the values of pelts and fish.  And something about looting houses for jewelry.

So, now I have literally no way of making money unless I do the same story missions over and over, repetitive and boring stranger missions or PvP (which I won't do).

Thanks for nothing, Rockstar!!! I'm sticking with replaying the story and finding another game to play online or going back to GTAV Online.

They have made online worse...and here I am thinking it's got to eventually get better. I don't even want to log on after seeing all the disappointed comments/reviews. AND, I have heard that when some people downloaded the update it messed up story mode.  That better not happen to my game....I will be spitting nails mad!!!!!!!

I have heard of those things happening. I've only experienced stranger missions not working correctly. But, I was on last night and everything seemed to be ok.

Only thing I can think of is they are working on things for the new update, I guess... and the servers get messed up while they are doing it.

Red Dead Online / Re: Journal not being updated with Vampire markings.!!

Yes, there is a vampire! It is a stranger mission or actually an easter egg. But, after finding the 5 clues....all writings on a wall found in St. will be able to encounter the vampire in St. Denis at a certain spot between the hours of midnight and 1am.  He killed me the first time but I was able to get him to spawn again. I think I had to wait a couple of in game days.  Look it up on YouTube.  You also acquire the ornate dagger after killing him.

Red Dead Redemption 2 / Challenges and Side Quests
« on: February 17, 2019, 01:14:27 PM »
I am currently working on the Herbalist challenge which is very time consuming, so I figured I would get it out of the way...been putting it off for too long because I hate looking for plants. I am on #9 to find all 43 herb find out that even though I have already found most I still have to go repick them such a pain! What I have left (thank god I wrote each one down) is 9 more orchids.......BUT, some won't spawn until you have done certain parts of the Duchesses and Other Animals exotics side quest. Ok, that's will be a nice break from that tedious task and I will find the orchids as I complete each part of the quest!

The RDR2map website and Youtube have been a tremendous help with doing these.  For the exotics side quest I was happy to find a great hunting spot to find all 20 herons for part 2.  Go to Clemens Cove where the horse fence is and that entire area near the water is a spawning ground for so many types of birds!  I found myself not only looking for herons but studying all types of birds I could not find before!  To get more to spawn, either set up camp and sleep or save and reload your game!  I mean, there just isn't a few birds here and there....there are FLOCKS of birds flying by and some just land on the ground to pick at dead bird carcasses.

I hope this is a help for someone else working on this challenge/quest!

Red Dead Redemption 2 / Re: Future Story Mode DLC a Possibility?
« on: February 06, 2019, 02:10:23 PM »
Mexico IS there with the exception of all the buildings and houses. The only partially completed building is El Presidio. I have glitched off the map and there is so much potential for the possibility of future map expansions. Past the normal boundaries of the actual map there is land that seems to go on forever and there is way too much there to be just for "distance visuals". North of the Grizzlies is the area that they say is "Canada". If you meet up with Eagle Flies' Father in Annesburg with John of course....he tells John that the remaining members of the Indian tribe have gone to Canada. And I think, if I remember correctly, Charles says that's where he is going, too. The supposed "Canada" area is beautiful and looks very different than the Grizzlies snowy areas. Most of it looks like finished graphics...there are mountains, trees and weather conditions like a blizzard. It's incredible!

I've gone to Guarma and if you explore off to the East of that map there is land that also goes on forever. Most of that is very unfinished but there are patches of beautiful mountains and grasslands, trees and other vegetation.  What is that map going to be? Again, there's way too much there to be just visuals for Guarma.

I was really disappointed that Sadie did not have a very large part in the main story. It would be great if they did some sort of DLC with her doing more bounties or something. A DLC with Landon Ricketts would be awesome, as Papa said! They could include that somehow in a Mexico DLC along with maybe Javier being that that's where John met up with them in the first game.

So many ideas and so many possibilities!  They have to be planning on expanding the map or is it there for a possible RDR3?  I mean, didn't they say that they were planning RDR2 during the making of the first game? It's not really that far-fetched of a speculation. I just really hope they don't do a Undead Nightmare 2....zombies are sooooo overdone.  I hear people are talking about time travel?  Now that would be something different!
