Grand Theft Auto V / Terrorbyte Client Jobs
« on: October 04, 2018, 08:49:51 PM »
If you need to make money in GTAV Online, this week the Client Jobs in the Terrorbyte pays double $$ and RP.  This is a really fast and easy way to make extra money and if you can do these solo ...think it's like the first 4 or 5 jobs....these jobs pay really well, better than most things! There's a cool down time in between, but by the time you get to finish the last one...the first is ready to do again.

As you may or may not have heard, Rockstar has allowed previews of 5 -6 hours of very detailed game play to several gaming websites....Gamespot, IGN and Game Informer along with a few others.  These reviews, I'm told, have the first 5 hours of the game and are ridden with spoilers.  I have read only a few sentences from one article and found one spoiler already.

I WILL NOT be posting anything about this anywhere...not here, not on Twitter, Facebook or Discord. I, personally, don't want the game spoiled in any way as I am sure none of you want that either.

I am ready to play the game! I do not need any more info to play the story outside of some new screenshots and small generalized info about game play or the game itself.

At this point, I would like more info on Red Dead Online,....but, that possibly might not come until after release.

Red Dead Redemption 2 / Rockstar shares new details with gaming websites!
« on: September 20, 2018, 01:52:38 PM »
If you haven't been on Twitter lately, Rockstar has shared several interviews with popular gaming sites today. I've made a list, if you guys haven't seen them all yet and I have pointed out some interesting details that they have shared after playing a demo of Red Dead Redemption 2! There is so much! I have not read all of the articles yet, but I am working on it!  I'm actually almost afraid to play this game now after reading the sounds soooo in depth! It's not going to be like any game I've ever played! I'm excited and apprehensive at the same time!

Here is the list of gaming sites that Rockstar has shared this info far. What are you most surprised to hear about? What returning/enhanced features are you happy to see again?  What new features are you excited about the most?

  • Gamespot
  • IGN
  • GamesRadar
  • Verge
  • Polygon
  • Kotaku
  • GameInformer
  • The Independent
  • VG247
  • PressStartAustralia

***WARNING***  Some articles have slight spoilers... depending on how much you want to know or not. Some will give a little bit of mission details but won't talk about the entire mission, for example. So they were very considerate in their report. Rockstar most likely made sure that they only let them reveal so much anyway.

Red Dead Redemption 2 / The Frontier, Cities and Towns of RDR2
« on: September 17, 2018, 11:10:16 AM »

Lots of new photos and screenshots with descriptions posted on the official RDR2 page....too many to copy and paste here so go check it out!

Saw this on Twitter this morning and for a second thought it might be trailer pt2. Was a little disappointed but after looking at all the pictures I am hyped up again!  Want to play this sooo bad.  It's like only a little bit more than 5 weeks away!

Another note:  Rockstar posting on a Monday?  Can't keep up with them...they are really unpredictable!

Site Suggestions & Bug Reports / New RDR2 Avatars for the forum?
« on: September 07, 2018, 01:10:17 PM »
@Chalk, how hard would it be to add new RDR2 avatars to the forum? There are a bunch over at the RDR2 website already made up and have 2 sizes to download. But, if it's too much of a hassle, I could make some.....just need a little time.  It's really easy for anyone to just copy those from the website and upload to imgur, but it would be a nice convenience to have them available right here.

Just a little note for anyone uploading to imgur.....I just changed my profile pic and couldn't get the link to work.  The imgur direct link started with "https://" but it finally worked when I omitted the "s". Weird.

« on: September 01, 2018, 12:59:46 PM »
Well everyone, we can now officially say that we will be playing RED DEAD REDEMPTION 2.....NEXT MONTH!

Doesn't that sound better than 56 days away or 8 weeks away? We just have to get through September now. What is everyone doing to keep occupied?  Playing RDR? Playing other games?  Marking your days off the calendar?  How many times have you watched the gameplay trailer? Have we all asked for time off during that first week of release?

Hopefully we will see the next gameplay trailer very soon!

Supposedly there was a private showing of RDR2 game play at E3. Seems to me that it won't be long now before we get to see it too!

Red Dead Redemption 2 / Another commentary video
« on: May 10, 2018, 01:47:07 PM »
Looks like we will have another treasure hunt in GTAV Online to unlock something for RDR2. They say that this game will be massive and include lots of activities, mini-games, side missions along with main story missions.  Sounds like the level of detail they have for this game will let the player take their time to explore every area of the map with more things to do and interact with.  No more empty spaces with nothing to do.  Hopefully they will have more open buildings that you can go they say you can go into a house and open drawers to steal items. It sounds like we are going to have to search very deeply to find things! I love that because I love to explore!  We are going to have weapons that are very realistic as far as reloading times and such, but they said that they will balance that out between the realism and having fun.

Red Dead Redemption 2 / Blackwater Massacre of 1899
« on: May 03, 2018, 07:50:38 PM »
This is from the Red Dead Wiki and is nothing new but I don't think I've ever read it unless it's a new entry. It will be interesting to see how many characters they will include in this prequel. Maybe Ricketts will be in the game!

The Blackwater Massacre was a bloody gunfight that took place in the town of Blackwater in 1899. The actual cause of the gunfight remains a mystery. The massacre gained wide publicity due to the amount of men killed and the fact that it took place in such a highly populated and modernized town.

Not much is known about the cause of the battle, only that it involved several lawmen and outlaws. This is likely due to the fact that most of the civilians present didn't know what started the battle and the police have since covered up most of the story. It is possible that much of the story has changed over time and the massacre is known as more of a myth than an actual event because of the mystery surrounding it.

According to accounts of the incident, as many as 37 men were killed, consisting of 22 outlaws and 15 members of the Blackwater Police Department. Although no exact number is known, it is believed that civilian casualties were minimal.

It is fairly possible that Cole MacFarlane, one of Bonnie MacFarlane's late brothers, was one of the victims of the massacre. The evidence behind this is that early in the game, Bonnie says that her brothers died either from foolish choices or sickness. Seeing as how Cole died in 1899 from a bullet wound in the head, it is possible that he was involved in the Massacre.

Landon Ricketts is supposedly one of the only surviving lawman of the incident. The massacre apparently led him to move south of the border to Chuparosa. His status as one of the only survivors has made him popular and given him a legendary status through West Elizabeth and beyond. Judging by the quotes of Willie Oats, he too could have been a survivor.

Willie Oats is believed to have survived the Blackwater Massacre, as he states "I'm never going back to Blackwater especially after what happened in 1899."

Gaming / Xbox One Alpha Ring Update Re: Mixer
« on: March 04, 2018, 07:45:04 PM »
Wasn't sure where to post this.  Mixer is fairly new to most of us and I know that some of us have been testing it out.  There has been more discussion regarding streaming and trying to get people interested as we get closer to RDR2's release! I really hope we can get people together to make this happen.....hoping some older members return to the forums and/or gaming in general as well as attract new members.

Anyway, I was about to turn on my Xbox aaaand there's an update (damn alpha preview program) that's like 3.5GB!!!  I was hoping that it included the new avatars they announced last year, so I tried searching on the internet for what this new update might include and found this:

A New Level of Mixer Interactivity

Introducing a new form of Mixer interactivity: Share controller. Now Mixer streamers on Xbox One have the option of sharing their controller with a Mixer viewer who is watching through Streamers can share their entire controller (except the Xbox button) in the Xbox game they are playing, and a viewer can take control through the on-screen gamepad or by plugging a controller into their PC. Viewer and streamer can work together in the game, or the viewer can cause trouble – resulting in hilarious chaos. It's your choice!

I only had to try this game out once (rented it from Red box) and I am absolutely in LOVE with it! I don't have a 4K tv, just a regular average LED, but the graphics are out of this world!  I LOVE the camera mode and have taken too many photos already and I'm only a level 13. I know that Ubisoft has had some bad issues with their other AC games but this one is simply a work of art and is very different than the other AC games (I think) as far as combat controls (which I'm still getting used to). Those of you who have played Witcher 3 you will see many similarities which is what sets it apart from the other AC games.

Long story short.....if you haven't tried it....get it!  I just went all out and purchased the Gold Edition! Xbox is having a sale right now on all Ubisoft games.  $99.99 value for only $66.99 which is just a little bit more than the cost of just the base game at full price.
