Character creator or if there are multiple protagonists like GTAV, at least one is a woman.

Let's have it protected from modders....... Just this second encountered a modded, well I presume that they was.
Had a lot of Ammo in boom boom stick, took several shots to the head. But kept running at me.

How were they with modders in GTAV? Never played it enough to find out. Did they get banned quickly?

Money modders were all over the 360 version, but I've never seen anything hinky on the XB1.

Definitely an active ban hammer is a must.  They really dropped the ball on RDR.

Also, GTA5 was very clunky.  You couldn't switch shoulders or roll. I generally want the same mechanics as RDR.  Heavy emphasis and reliance on  head shots, same shoulder/camera controls, rolling, etc.  I know a lot of people liked how GTA 5 worked, but this isn't GTA.  Lets stick with the concepts that made RDR great.

Smaller posses.  When you can make an entire 8 man team a single posse in PVP, it leads to a lot of problems.  People stack the odds and it becomes very unsportsmanlIke.  A 4 man posse is big enough.

In the same grain as that, I'd like to see a clan match mode.  Ultimately because that sort of thing really jammed up public sessions.  People getting kicked to make room for a clan match, other clans not being able to get a sizable posse because the session was full, etc.  In my mind a clan match mode is much like BF in way that it is customizable.  You can adjust rules, adjust team sizes, weapons, etc.  And this mode would use your social club clans and go towards your clan social club leader board.  This makes everyone happy all around.

Also, when we get DLC maps, I would like for them to find a way to not divide them.  The DLC maps were useless after a while because no one played them.  Mix them into the regular rotation like other games do, but make sure the matchmaking works so that people can still find a session.

And I hope to God they don't end up using anything from GTA in that regard, because you could never get into a session in GTA.  Eternal cloud loading got old.

I am hoping there will be no micro transactions and I don't want a similar situation as GTAV heists... "Train hold ups & bank robberies in multiplayer... but wait 1.5 years after release for them!"

I'd like to see some sort of multiplayer customisation that allows different perks for different equipment (bandolier gives you more ammo, different footwear offers different speeds, saddle bags to hold cash and gear, hats or bandanas offering dead-eye perks, that sort of thing).

And as Fisherman said, the one shot headshot must return in RDR2. I don't want to be firing 10 bullets per player or npc.

+1 for a camera of sorts. The only positive to "Eastern Union Moneygrams" or whatever could be a string of "free" dlc with no split to player base.

I just hope that there will be much more customization for your multiplayer character similar to GTA especially for us gals. The choices for women characters were horrible on RDR.

Safehouses for multiplayer:  cabins or ranchers you can purchase and upgrade or build.

The ability to swim and use a boat or canoe.

Absolutely NO auto weapons...hopefully a bow and arrow will be added.

Well if that map that leaked months ago was real, im looking forward to revisiting armadillo and fort mercer to see what, if any, changes were made. Im curious how large the new towns will be, and im really looking forward to seeing trains in online. So many of the community organized games for rdr would have benefitted from a train.

You could roll in GTA.  I'm thinking you meant to say crouching which they inexplicably removed and replaced with sneaking?

And ever since I joined Lord in like 2013 we've always played our clan matches in private mode.

Better spawn points in gang matches.  Chuparosa HYO one side always spawned right behind their base to defend their bag(like it should be), the other side always spawned halfway across the map nowhere near their bag to defend it.  Armadillo HYO one team 90% of the time spawned inside that building on the little hill, you died 99% of the times the moment you stepped outside that building.  This made the maps highly unbalanced.  People even came up with tricks(leaving a posse right before the match starts) just to get the 'good' side of these maps.  Tesoro was the only fair map.

Actually do something about cheaters.  They never did anything about them in RDR1 & we all know how that ended up.

Loading screens that aren't 1/4 as long as GTA5's.

First person switchable, R* creator and editor.

For the admins of this site not to take their site so serious and play favorites like during last game's entire lifespan.

Enough African American playable characters to make a CoonTown2.

To make another classic game ahead of its time so we can still be playing it in 2020 and it'll still feel up to date.

Couldn't agree more Mrs M. The best times I ever had playing RDR was with sessions filled with people from this forum, stagecoach boating, shotgun house amount other things. Can't wait for more of that.

I'm easily pleased. I just want more of the same thing, just bigger and with crisper graphics.

For Gods sake PLEASE let posses be able to stay together through different sessions like in RDR. Don't stick with the crap system in GTA online.

I know what Fisherman means, RDR flowed in a way that GTAV, Max Payne, and LA Noire never did. RDR felt fluid while the others felt clunky. I think it had something to do with the running mechanics (I think they tried to add additional animations of how characters would look like when the began to run and when they slowed from a run to a walk - it just ended up feeling clumsy and frustratingly slow)

RDR's character movement was so smooth! :)

I hope the menu will be as good as it was too, i.e. inviting folk and switching sessions etc. Not as crap as GTAV is...

No more automatic weapons (assault rifles) back to good old shot guns, Winchester, bolt action, no rpg's all we have to look out for is dynamite.

A few boats for nagivating rivers.
More hunting grounds. I like how bear materials sold for more cash in mexico. Expand on this. Add hunter outfits, more challenges, weapons unlocked by hunting stuff, more crafting from animal materials, etc.
More rare horses. Make it worthwhile for us to find and break horses in. let us have a corral where we can gather the horses we found and let us sell them for good cash.
Let us customize the saddle and other horse stuff.
No clothes stores. I liked the outfit unlockable system. Clothes stores for MP only.
More native american stuff. That stuff was pretty untapped in. Maybe a certain region can have a conflict between settlers and natives. Implement a gta san andreas drug wars esque minigame on who you want to help control that region. IDK. Just more native american conflict stuff. Maybe a region that is native territory that is extremely DANGEROUS to travel through.
Speaking of choices, give us more choices. Storywise and other. It was already fine in rdr but we need more.
Gang hideouts that can be cleared out over and over again, like in the rdr multiplayer but for singleplayer. I had no idea where to test my shiny new explosive rifle when the dlc hit us.
Trains can now be robbed
Random armored/secured bank trains will spawn. Robbing these will net you special guns/lots of cash.
More banks to rob and for god's sake let it give more cash.
Stores can be robbed.
Random people in the street can be robbed. Not sure if this was possible already?
Let us buy and store carts/coaches.
Coach driving minigame. Like the good old taxi game from gta. You can encounter random problems, bandits, etc. This shit writes itself. It can even be introduced by a story mission easily.
More races.
Make guns and ammo more expensive.
More properties to buy.
More buffalo hunting.
Larger variation in police force. I liked the marshals posse hunting you. that shit needs to be expanded upon.
Let us run a brothel. More interactive than gta V business missions but kinda similar would be fun.
Let us buy businesses and develop them like gta vice city did so so well. I'm a huge fan of the player being required to build up and collect the $ sign out of his businesses in gta vice city.
Tomahawks in vanilla.
Let us crouch like in rdredemption. No crouch in gtaV but that hunchover still was BS.
More wanted mission please. Or randomise them after the main unique bounties. Make it unlock stuff.
Dueling is now not a fucking annoying minigame and fun.
More local politics. I want to feel the local resistance or cooparation against/for the hand of civilization.
Flower picking makes a return.
Treasure maps should be a bit harder to solve and require more steps.
Cougars are still BS.
Add a werewolf side quest that leads to nothing and makes fun of the old myth hunters on rdr.
Stranger quests. Although i was OK with the quantity in rdr1.
Expand upon gangs. Again, a gta sa drug wars esque system would be cool. Let us join a gang if we want. If you kill their leader in a mission or something you become the leader. Who cares, just make it work.
Don't nerf throwing knives.
You can recruit up to 6 NPC's to follow you around in the world, clear hideouts with you, rob shit, etc.

What I would like to see in RD2:

Scalping, and the ability to wear the scalpe’s appendage like a trophy.
War paint (possibility in the style of a social club crew logo?)
Branding, namely the ability to brand enemies…. sizzle
Opium dens, never mind getting poleaxed on Whiskey getting shit face on some Chinese Tobacco and hallucinating sounds like fun.
Customisable clothing, horses, and stagecoaches- paint your wagon!
Custom weapons- I remember in the game Gun you could tie sticks of dynamite to arrows and launch bad guys 50 feet into the air, Tomahawks or fire bottles? Why not BOTH, FLAMING THROWING AXES.
Chewing tobacco complete with spittoon action.
Choices in the storyline, do you side with the pale faces or go all dances with wolves?
MOAR players in PvP
Keep the control set up, maybe fine tune it ever so slightly, it was just perfect the way it was.

My imagination has run so wild over the past few years thinking about this.  I am just glad that the one thing I wanted the most, bank robberies, is all but certain after GTAV.

Also cattle rustling.  I want a huge emphasis on high stakes robbery and get away situations.  Talking about in multiplayer of course for all of this.  We all know the online is the real game.

And am I the only one that really wants liars dice to return?  I really loved that game.

Also I hope there is a "no ksa" policy implemented for this game.

I would like there to also be bank robberies, but I really hope they find a way to make a decent in-game economy. The last thing I need is another GTAO mission to grind 500x a day with TWO Nefarious and Luckyduke. Had enough of that shit to last a life time....

One thing I'm hoping to see is the redemption of Abigail Marston. She arrives so late in the first story that we don't get the chance to really get to know her before she's gone. I heard so many people lament that John and Bonnie never get together, but for me that was one of the best parts of the story. Bonnie is a great character, but that doesn't negate 16 plus years of John And Abigail's relationship. Having your wife and son kidnapped and held for ransom doesn't mean it's the perfect time to hook up with a nice rancher lady you've just met. Many people cite hearing "Far Away" play as John enters Mexico as the highlight of the game for them, but for me it's definitely hearing "Compass" as John races back to reunite with Abigail and Jack. I'd like to see their story unfold a bit, warts and all, in the new game.

Honestly, I'm super easy to please. Rockstar rarely disappoints me. I'd love to see some more women characters, but I'm not going to bitch if there aren't many.
I have a wish unrelated to the content of the game, but still related to RDR- I'm hoping to catch some of you hardcore free roamers from PSN back in the day!

Have a more cinematic Dead Eye, like have you select the enemies and then when you execute it you take out the enemies but in a cooler more fun way instead of just killing them like a list. In more detail if someone is standing on something they would fly off and you would see the impact,or maybe you shoot three guys with a revolver and then you pull out your shoot gun and send some guy flying through a window.

Realistic damage like if you shoot a guy in his shooting arm he switches arms and becomes less accurate or runs away. Shooting someone in the legs makes them hop run, limb, crawl, or hide from you. Heads shots are gory and you can take a head off, same with arms or legs with gun shots, melee weapons, and explosions.

Customization for characters clothes, not just outfit choosing but select different clothing pieces to make your own out. A unique gun customization option like different color metal pieces like a cold trigger, cylinder, hammer, custom engraved stuff, and maybe upgrade like faster rotating cylinder.

Realistic weather, wind that makes aiming harder, rain that makes the ground slippery, and have actual snowfall that makes it hard for people to see. Also have flash floods, snow build on the ground, people react correctly to the weather.

Smart enemy A.I. like have an enemy track you, find cover, flank you, run away and get back up, or even make you follow them to a trap.

Cool home builder like be able to buy a house or ranch, or build one kinda where ever you want and be able to run a ranch. Be able to hire people to work for you so you don't have to run around doing errands all the time.

Own businesses like a cattle ranch, drug fields, bars, casinos, and have the businesses work like a smart functioning system. If the casino gets rob you can track the robbers down if its in a timely manner. Choose how much money you make per business, you you take in 75% then that leaves little for your employees which may lead to them quitting or robbing you which won't notify you, you'll just make less. If you take a smaller income your employees will be trust worthy and even defend your business in a fight.

Make hand to hand fun and interacting, kinda like assassin creeds where you can counter and move from one guy to the other but not so easy that you can just take out an entire bar with ease. It is a video game so if your player could learn new moves as the game progressed like kicks, and unique counters that would be cool.

companions like a dog or a hired person, guy or girl.

Realistic environmental damage like an explosion causes a grass fire that spreads around fairly well and jumps to trees. A fire can burn down a wood building like a barn, people can try and put it out but if the barn burns down, the owner will rebuild it after sime in-game time has passed.

Cool player effects like your hair grows longer and you grow a beard after a long time. The longer you wear the same clothes the dirtier your clothes get.

Good variety of guns, knives, bombs, and special weapons.

Create a posse and roam the map looting, killing, and just running a muck or go a more lawfull way killing criminals or taking them in and become a lawman or bounty hunter.

For online have great detail in the character customization, like height, weight, build, gender, race, and even how the face looks like eye color, eye spacing and stuff like skyrim has or saints row.

I'd like them to further refine the honour system. So that your honour effects the game world even more, even openning up unique gameplay e.g.
Low honour
People are actually scared of you.
you walk into a bar and it goes silent (pinano stops playing, low mumuring and everyone looking at you)
Bounty hunters, hunting you
Wanted posters of you pop up.
Gangs looking for help with crimes
High Honour
People are excited to see you, fans coming up to you
People defend you if some bad guy tries to get the drop on you.
More people looking for your help
More bounty missions available

If this is a prequel and the territory from the RDR is part of the map (like in the 'leaked' one) then it would be cool to see Tumbleweed in its former glory. You could have some missions based around the building of the railroad (think hell on wheels) and we could find out some cool reason or other for Tumbleweed being bypassed!

I'd be interested to see them add melee weapons that you could use from a horse. You could kind of knife people from your horse in the first game, but it was never really fleshed out. A lot of times if an enemy or another player was on a horse, they were at a disadvantage because you could shoot their horse out from under them and watch them eat dirt.

And you could joust people in free roam too!  ;D

I haven't been able to enjoy any other game online since RDR became unplayable.  My wishes are simple.  I want to see the familiar names I used to play with in HC from 2011-2014.  I miss doing the organized dueling tournaments, and what I generally perceived to be a respectful HC community.  I hope even if there is an assisted aim and a hardcore mode, that they do away with MP deadeye.

What I want the most is a game world that I love as much as the first RDR.  One in which I feel compelled to explore every nook and cranny of the map.  I want to enjoy roaming the world so much that I don't need the map to get where I want to go.

I simply cannot wait for this game.

I would love it if they would stop people from ruining the game for everyone. mods should be blocked and controlled, I have loved Red Dead since it came out. I ran many clans, But as soon as that mod ruined the game I couldn't play anymore. Now we all have to wait a year to play. But at least now we know were going to be able to play again! I have a feeling there going to tell us fall... but it will be released earlier then that date I hope.

I really hope they do the hunting and the bounties. where you have to hunt to get money. and take bounties like in gta 5. I hope they add emotes like in gta5. We need custom creations like with hair and clothes where you can craft and do things back then, we need to have this red dead beat gta 5. or about the same as everything in it. because red dead redemption came out before gta 5 we should have it where updates give us more things like new horse, Or new wagons. Or hell give us new weapons or styles of dances or mini games. rockstar did great with the last red dead! cant wait for next year!

Just based on the fact that we saw that guy on horseback holding two pistols, I'd have thought that we'll definitely see it.

I imagine the aim system works in much the same way as it does with one gun, except you'll be firing two guns. Is that how it was with Max Paine? I really don't remember much about that game.

I imagine the aim system works in much the same way as it does with one gun, except you'll be firing two guns. Is that how it was with Max Paine? I really don't remember much about that game.

Well, Marshall Johnson was duel wielding for much of RDR. Just cause we saw one guy I don't know if that means it is certain...

I'd like to see some of the old characters back as their younger selves. Considering how late in history RDR was set for a Western, and the overwhelming number of Buffalo in the new trailer, it does seem very likely it will be a prequel. Maybe with ealier John Marston as the villain?

also they must include firebottles with an option for nudity!

Oh man, I totally forgot about the honor system. hope they bring it back.

Single Player content is where Rockstar lacks. MP content is what they want to add these days. GTA Online is currently their biggest hit. And if RDR2 is big on MP scene, they won't bother in single player. Just like they neglected the SP of GTA V. No improvements, except the ones that would affect GTA Online.

Shooting mechanics like max Payne 3. The gta mechanics didn't really feel good.
The ability to prone
Deep multiplayer not just free roam but diffferent game modes like rdr
Camping, fishing, hunting
1870s era for it is the peak of the old west
A non respawn multiplayer game mode
Horse customization would be cool (saddles, paint, holsters, etc)
More realistic weapon inventory like max Payne you can't carry 8 weapons at once
Mysteries...gold, ghosts, old stories by campfires etc

Thoughts?

It's been such a long time, so I don't remember the shooting mechanics very well. I want to play tons of free aim matches with the same guys that I played back in 2011-2012, and I want headshots to feel as satisfying as they do in The Last Of Us (since I really don't remember the feeling in RDR).

Other than that, I want...

# tons of outfits for my character
# tons of weapons skins
# different horse breeds
# better character interaction with the environment, something that R* has always sucked at
# bow and arrow
# better melee system
# sneaking and sneak takedowns (not only on NPC's, but also on other players)
# ability to create custom game modes (for example without Deadeye and radar)
# Free for alls, where it's every man for himself, not only team based online matches
# no mercy for laggers and modders

Better stealth kills, I shouldn't stick a knife in somebody's back with nobody around and have a npc three towns over in his basement go running for the law.
Better fight mechanics
Salon fights(could be like a random event)
Less raping from Bears and Cougars, I want to enjoy the wilderness. Not worry about getting jumped every 3 seconds.

I really wish they would release another trailer soon!

I love the Old West and everything about it. I really can't believe that there aren't more games with a Western theme. Would be cool if there were side missions where the protagonist had some interactions with real life outlaws like Wyatt Earp, Jesse James or Billy the Kid.

I know that everyone has some great expectations for RDR2 Multiplayer....I do too.....but I hope that they make the single player really interesting!

I suppose it will be after Christmas now, for some new info and maybe a video of RDR.

its all about GTA Online imports/exports and then the big blanket of snow to hit Los Santos.

Meanwhile the original RDR now playable on PS4 via PlayStation Now........ it just transfers your PS4 system to the PS3,  No nextgen features like save video clips, No sharing screenshots to Facebook or Twitter.

In relation to number 1 and 2, a game which I think did this well would be The Godfather II. You were able to hire made men which would each have differing skills. Once they were upgraded you could promote them to Capo and then to Underboss they would gain additional skills. It was pretty simple, you could only have a total of 7 made men and only 3 of them could be active with you at any time but it did have a good system where you had to think about what you needed at that time. I wouldn't mind seeing more of this sort of thing in future games, although I'm not sure how it would play into a Red Dead Redemption game.

We got that in GTA5 story mode....... the jewel heist, picking a team of random NPC's to do the job with us.  with a slightly different outcome to what NPC's we pick (take the hacker Ricky for instance, he made the heist play out really bad and shit went wrong.

So I think Rockstar will be bringing GTA5/Online features into RDR2, I think we shall see an RDR Online Creator....... designing our own grab the bag and free for all Deathmatches.

But the only thing I want to see from GTA in RDR2....... is Rockstar Editor.

True. Although there didn't seem a huge difference to taking "bad" people sometimes as you can still easily finish the mission, and after a few jobs they developed enough that by the end of the story they were decent. I guess if its more in a gang environment you might be able to send them on jobs to earn money or something. Maybe something more along the lines of Kenway's Fleet in AC:Black Flag.

They had that in AC Brotherhood. It was a cool feature at the time, but unfortunately it quickly became a chore and repetitive. It would be cool if you could accompany the gang on these jobs and in doing so you get to check-out an environment outside of the map. In the mountains or desert, something like that.

I have no doubt that there will be at least one if not several churches or chapels. I don't think they will play a major role and would be surprised if we can even enter many of them. I would see them more as just plain old buildings similar to how they were in the first game.

I could of sworn there was at least 1 we couldn't. But my point is that in a massive open world its not likely that EVERY building will be able to be entered. However I do think several churches will be, even if its not a major part of the gameplay.

One thing I would like to see though, if they not only have time passing but days. And then on Sunday mornings the entire town goes to church. Perfect time for a robbery, no? Or you could just light up the church with molotov cocktails, if thats your thing.

Good animation like max Payne 3, the gta animations were too vague.
Misc game modes (poker, horse/boat racing, shooting comps, etc)

Idk if I like preset characters or created characters better. I didn't like the GTA customization to characters they lacked realism. I want horse and gun customization.

And last I want them to keep the little things like character quotes, kill cams, hats falling off, weather mechanics, and LOTS of little details and animation.

I really want mini games back. I know a lot of people hate them, but I loved them.

I'd love to see horseshoes make a return. Maybe a "shooting range" type setup game where you have to shoot cans and hanging plates and stuff. Like the one at the back of MacFarlane's Ranch. Have a gun challenge and an archery challenge. Since we have the bow and arrow, have three arrows to fire, best to the center wins.

Then there is gambling. I love gambling. I want not only Texas Hold 'Em poker, but 7 card stud, five card draw, and others. I want a blackjack table that isn't clearly rigged. RDR was almost impossible to make a profit at blackjack. It was clearly rigged. I'd like to see a roulette wheel, liar's dice, a craps table. Have five finger fillet return too. Maybe chicken fights where you can bet or fights with people where you can bet or participate. Even have a slot machine, those were around at the time.

I'd love to have a static casino in a town and also a Riverboat Casino that comes into port and travels down the rivers. That would be amazing.

I know I've said this before, but weapons customization would be nice.  Different grips for revolvers /pistols.  Engraving options on all guns.  Scope options for rifles.  Caliber size upgrades.  Also, if you're allowed to choose different colors, they better not include pink.  No offense to the child bearing race, but seriously, who the fuck wants to see some yokel running around with a pink 1873 Winchester!

I didn’t like the matchmaking in gta the menus were confusing to me. , I hope that rdr2 isn’t heavily based on auto aim like rdr. I get that there was free aim in rdr but the lobbies are empty. I want the ability to probe too big aspect in shooting games, i mean look at pubg. Also I hope that enemies don’t show up on mini map so often, in rdr you’d think there was jab in the sky picking out enemies every time they shot their gun or sprinted. I liked in rdr how there wasn’t map cutoffs in death match and other multiplayer matches, you could get a sniper go on top of ANY hill around and pick enemies off. Idk how I feel about deadeye in the new one it was kinda OP in rdr. Like I said before I like the Mac Payne 3 animations the characters weren’t clunky and un responsive. Non red pawn game modes I love, they’re way more intense. I want an in-depth character customization like face morphing and stuff like that players in GTA 5 all looked the same to me, while the story characters had depth in their faces. If not I like the default thing they did in rdr just wish they had more characters. I like how in tdm they did random team vs random team like miners vs marshals in Mexico or Dutch’s gang vs cattle rustlers in armadillo. Can’t wait to see what kind of ideas rockstar comes up with, they always find a way to impress the hell out of me. See ya on the plains look for me I’m the guy with feathers riding a paint with a bow and arrow

Also I don’t like the unrealistic route that gta went as far as weapons and vehicles. Too much up saints row ally. I hope we don’t see rdr2 with a futuristic machine gun dlc or something stupid like that. The zebra donkey was dumb enough I love realism and history that’s more badass to me than zombies and laser guns. Just saying.

I hope there will be another profile transfer feature, I grown attached to my GTAO character. appearance, stats...... not the outfits or weapons, cause that will be stupid.

But has our GTAO character has the Double action revolver..... maybe R* will work it like in BTTF2 where while in our Deluxo, we get struck by lightning, so that's where our RDR Online begins.

That would be a great intro.

#1 on my wish list is that every single person that works for rockstar choke on a massive black pecker.  The delay it another year to make the game worse.  They will discard all competitive modes and scrap them for some creator /builder shit.  GTA 5 online was shit.  Zero competition after the creator was released.  That is unless you want to play some silly arecade race some dumb fuck created.  If we don't have regular ol grab the bag then their is no point.
I like fuckin around in free roam a bit, but that gets old fast.

That's a rhetorical question btw...

Nah, most of you on this forum will probably disagree.  Free roam is for fucking around and that's fine, and can be very fun.  I'm saying that competition based modes were the prime reason for the games success.  I've played the such modes with. Alot of you online, but not all.  Rockstar should keep the exact online format from RDR.  I just know they will fuck it up by trying to attract Minecraft players and the like.  Like I said, the old formula worked.

I actually 100% agree with this, FR was almost like a lobby I spawned in before launching off into FFA, grab the bag , gang match etc. FR was ok for the odd event like stage coach boating, I just hope R* nails the competitive multiplayer on RDR2, on that point I wonder how they will implement duel wielding? Also bow and arrow kills in MP? Yes please- if we could combined the old bow and arrow with some TNT we'd really be talking.  (seedy)

RDR2 could be similar to GTAO, with the property or land purchasing ??

If we are going to be part of a gang of ruthless outlaws, then we would be seizing the land off the locals and demanding a cut of there profit.

I really think - like it or not - RDR2 Online will most likely be very similar to GTAV Online. Since they are going to have a money system and some type of microtransactions.

I hope we get the best of both worlds....a great story and an online experience that will be both rewarding and challenging and fun. In online I hope we can have an assortment of character customizations allowing us to choose how we want to play or who we would like to play as......an outlaw, an American Indian or maybe a simple rancher.  The outlaw would earn his money similar to how we earned money in GTAO doing hiests, bank/train robberies, catching bounties and maybe some kind of other illegal business.  The rancher would have to earn money somehow to buy property....a ranch, barn and land to have horses, cattle and other livestock.  He would have to earn money selling his livestock...go on a cattle drive staying away from cattle rustlers and indians.  For the American Indian, I think they would have to do some hunting and fishing and sell or trade their goods to earn their living.

Whoever you get to play as, you would have the same goal....make money to buy the things you need. Just as any other game would.  In the old RDR you leveled up with XP to unlock guns and new characters.  RDR2 will probably keep most of that going on in online but it will be so much more! And unfortunately with them adding a money system that will most likely be very similar to GTAV Online, we will be grinding once again for anything we want to earn or level up our character.

So, buckle up, buttercup and enjoy the ride!

I want so little from this game. More competitive play maps, happy to see the battle royale style play, maybe limited character customization, and really just fleshing out more of what the original game could have been. I am concerned that Rockstar is going to fuck this up with massive micro transactions, in game economy, a gtaonline menu system. I don't want to see any first person view in the game. Maybe I am old fashioned that way, but I just want an improved RDR not a Western gta. Still excited to play it though.

Give us free roam activities, taking land, tormenting townsfolk

100% agree, there's nothing wrong with R* expanding Free Roam and adding more customizing and I'm sure that folks who love FR will be delighted and at the end of the day mirco transactions for cosmetic items  are optional after all,  so long as it isn't at the expense of the quality of gameplay in the likes FFA or Gang Matches etc, I'll be happy .

I really hope that the battle royale mode is just a rumor. I've tried Fortnite and I sucked at it. I don't mind a first person view as long as there's 3rd person. I switch back and forth in GTA once in a while myself. I definitely hope they keep the competitive game modes like FFA, team death match and grab the bag.  I'm not worried about the micro transactions at all...never bought a shark card in GTAV and I definitely won't buy whatever they are going to call it in RDR2. I am sure they will have plenty of in game money earning opportunities in RDR2 just like they do in GTAV.

I really hope they give us some more info about the game...the story, characters and online gameplay....soon!

We want more to do in FR then in the first RDR, all we had was ride round the map to gang hideouts.

So if they bring activities from GTA.... nothing like businesses, but instead of crews. Forming posses, taking buildings and claiming as your own for hideout/safe house and somewhere to store your shit.... mounts, wagons, stagecoaches.
Having an owner able stagecoach ready for boating would be good.

Say, has anyone mentioned RB on their wishlist yet?  My wish is for a strong RB mechanic.  Not even leave the top of your head sticking out, just total RB.   Also, maybe on RDR2 we can get a button assigned to 360.  Just press X... 360.  That way we can get some nice, cheap RB-360-RB combos.
