No time for hijinks and fun! You can’t fall behind what the top players have. I think that having an “economy” in the game has made it into a rat race. People worry about being productive and earning money, gold, and levels to unlock and pay for clothing, guns, cards and horses so they will at some point have a complete character. Hey, don’t forget to earn enough money for your recipes and ammo and the best items for your cores either. Contrast this with the first game. Steal good horse, complete a gang hideout to get a decent gun- boom, you’re the equal of any other player. Simpler times.

The bottom line for me is that the first game had multiplayer so good that I couldn’t get enough and this game is so mediocre that after an hour I’m losing interest. The thing is that playing with friends is great, but everyone could sit around a folding table and play euchre and have a hell of a time without praising the build quality of the table or the printing on the playing cards. To be more positive I’d say the world built by Rockstar is a masterpiece and the bedrock of everything. For me it’s weak in gunplay, map choice/design and game modes. Gunplay is the most vague and hard to change, so that’s probably not going to change. Map choice can improve and there’s some hope there. Modes are the easiest fix and I’m sure we’ll get more. They can call it a beta for years, but that’s irrelevant to me. I expect updates and for broken aspects of the game to be fixed going forward in any online game. Other “finished” games do it and they have a fraction of the war chest that Rockstar has. Zero sympathy. Regarding PVP popularity, just look at a general forum like Reddit. The RDR sub has a ton of members and any posts even mentioning PVP are scarce. It’s just a small part of the larger multiplayer which is a part of the larger game. It’s what many of us love (or want to love) and I believe it’s just wishful thinking that it will get the attention we think it deserves.

I do hope and think it will improve, but it has a long way to go to be half as compelling as the first game’s online play.

Re:crews MP3 was nice and simple. Crew members placed on the same team. Killing enemy crews would start a feud between crews which was simply kills recorded. Winning crew got some bonus XP, losing crew got a bit less bonus XP.

I think the problem with maps is that most stink for the game type. Zero effort was made. Tall trees, strawberry, St. Denis? Throw some spawn points in, DONE! What’s next boss?

If they blocked off a section of St. Denis and it was knives only in the tight streets and alleys it would be like heaven. There’s no equivalent to Tesoro Azul or Las Hermanas this time. Even Max Payne 3 altered the maps to create fun arenas. RDR2 has no thought put into the maps. Like they threw darts at the world map.

OK, here’s some hate mail for the wrong game to keep this thread on track.

Guess booty stank is their go-to insult. They were a dynamic duo.

I think the main issue is that PVP balance is not on Rockstar’s radar at all. Savvy players will always exploit advantages in games. It’s up to the developer to notice these advantages and determine what should be done. Some are left in because it requires skill, some are patched out because they’re cheap exploits. Believe it or not, other games are tinkered with all the time because weapon A is used in 75% of all kills, or the team spawning on the hill wins 62% of the time or one spawn is always getting camped by long range weapons they’ll place trees in front or similar. I’ve seen no evidence that Rockstar devs have ever changed things in PVP for any reason. I think the weapons were made for single player and if they heard that the varmint is king the reaction would be a shrug. The first game was great because of set load outs plus pickups. I’m still hoping we’ll be able to create custom matches.

Have some god damn faith you bunch of Arthurs! Rockstar just announced a brand new most wanted map: “Lofty Vertical Logs” Now buy some gold bars to celebrate.

The MicahTransaction economy drives all of these decisions. The system in 1 would solve this. You’d spawn without a sniper rifle, but there would be one in the tower with maybe 4-5 rounds in it. It would be a risk/reward situation to climb up there. The sad reality is that in the scheme of the whole game, pvp matches are about 5% of the focus and we see that on display right now. The only hope I have is that the games we play now have a rockstar created stamp. If we can make our own games like in GTAO, we can force standard weapons plus pickups and control everything.

We need to talk to old St. Nick and see if he could see fit to slip an Xbox version in @Craigyroo ‘s stocking this Christmas.

It’s Maui. Here’s one from a neighboring island, Lanai. This is garden of the gods at the end of a long 4 wheel drive trail.

And here’s a quick video I just uploaded.

When you're playing an Xbox 360 game on Xbox One, it's like you're on Xbox 360. Xbox One apps like Friends and Party don't interact with your game.

In an Xbox 360 game, send game invites and start parties the way you would on Xbox 360: using the Xbox Guide. Open the guide by pressing the View  button and Menu  button at the same time, then choose Friends or Party and follow the instructions.

Basically you’ll have access to the 360 party chat, so everyone can be on that. Start a party and invite only using the Xbox one UI if you want Xbox one parties to continue in the 360 emulator. Game invites should be done in 360 and you shouldn't create 360 parties and Xbox one parties simultaneously as it causes confusion, you can mute players who are in game chat in the settings.

It’s basically your choice. If all are on Ones, use the One party system, if it’s mixed, everyone can use the 360 party system.

The Xbox one RDR will connect to the same servers as the 360 version. All players will be together with no differences, except it will look better on the one. It works perfectly.
