Events / Red Dead Online League - Expressions of interest
« on: October 14, 2018, 12:08:51 AM »

Howdy cowboys and cowgirls,

When Red Dead Redemption was released all those years ago, the online multiplayer had a huge base of dedicated fans who loved to test themselves against the best there was. This bought about several amateur competitive leagues. With Red Dead Redemption 2 and Red Dead Online, the opportunity for competitive tournaments are endless.

As well as relaxed games with friends (or enemies), we are also looking at working with great content creators throughout all streaming platforms (Twitch, Mixer, Facebook Gaming and Youtube) to create a worldwide competitive league. We would love to be able to broadcast some of these matches LIVE on the various streaming platforms. Streaming is such a more accessible option for many gamers now, as built in apps on the PS4 (Twitch) or hardware on the Xbox One (Mixer) means if you have a console, YOU CAN BROADCAST!.

If you are interested in taking part in some of the BEST Red Dead Online events and tournaments, post your details below so we can start to make some arrangements. I know not a lot of details behind Red Dead Online has been released yet but that shouldn't be far away. For now you can assume similar match types to those found in RDR as well as GTA Online. Once we have confirmation of match types we can get some things arranged.

Simply fill out the info below

Console you are playing on (Xbox One or PS4):
Match types or events you would be interested in (Free for all, Team deathmatch, "Grab the bag", etc):
Team based or solo based:
Are you a streamer and looking at streaming matches? If so, which Platform and Handle:

Red Dead Redemption 2 / "None of us are ready for October 26th"

Alanah Pearce is a host for Rooster Teeth and got to play some Red Dead Redemption 2. After going in with high expectations she reports that she as still blown away.

This pleases me, and everything I am hearing about this game sounds amazing.

I am sure they will release more information soon but I know other games I've played have the actual date you can predownload from is significantly earlier. Usually 3-5 days at least.

Found out why Roo has been scarce around here lately. Those burritos don’t deliver themselves.

I prefer Tacos.

Tacos.....raining from the sky?

I wouldn't mind a small delay in online. Maybe like a week or something. But that is purely because I won't be able to play that much the first 3 days as I will be at PAX Aus which runs for 3 days from release date. I am basically gonna be there all day hanging out with friends, and then home to play Red Dead, maybe a few hours sleep and then rinse and repeat.

@Ferguson99 Having an option to turn off all HUD options would be nice. Get real immersed in the game.

One of the streamers I mod for has been playing a ton of this lately. Also a heap of content creators have been getting back into it. Really having a resurgence.

The only channel on Mixer I have for Red Dead Forums is the one you set up in the TEAM that the same one you're talking about or is it a different one?

it's D Day ... go pick up your copy of Far Cry 5 ...

I have been playing far too much of this. Its pretty good.

Take two said there will be no battle royale mode.

Wouldn't be surprised either way to be honest. Red Dead Redemption 2 won't "need" a battle royale mode to be super popular, but if they made one I am sure it would also be quite a popular mode to play. Whatever happens I'm sure the online component will be something they will look at turning into a 5 year game similar to GTAOnline.

Official News / Re: Release date announced! October 26th 2018!

Couple interesting points of note on this date:

- GTA San Andreas was also released 26th October, in 2004. This would mean Red Dead Redemption 2 gets released exactly 14 years later. Now we all know what a game changer San Andreas was in terms sheer map size and detail. Could we expect the same from RDR2?

- The date may also ring a bell with those familiar with a certain popular movie trilogy.

- Its also the date where the Gunfight at the O.K. Corral took place. The most famous shootout of the American Wild West.

Well hopefully todays news gives us a bit of an idea as to when business will pick up.

Time to book some annual leave from work.

Official News / Release date announced! October 26th 2018!

Dear All,
We are excited to announce that Red Dead Redemption 2 will be released on October 26th 2018. We apologize to everyone disappointed by this delay. While we had hoped to have the game out sooner, we require a little extra time for polish.
We sincerely thank you for your patience and hope that when you get to play the game, you will agree the wait will have been worth it. In the meantime, please check out these screenshots from the game. We look forward to sharing a lot more information with you in the coming weeks.
With thanks,
Rockstar Games

The suspension and chassis are a bit firmer than a standard Fiesta, which drives great. It also has a turbo and 6 speed gearbox, which makes it accelerate quite fast (thumbsup2)

Mrs Roo is cancer free and also picking up a new Fiesta tomorrow coincidentally, hers is in the blue wave colour, not an RS like your sporty number but a Zetec.

Terrific news there about Mrs Roo. This kinda hits home at my mum has just started treatment for bowel cancer. It was caught really early so the outlook has been positive but its still scary you know.

If you believe the rumours we are likely to have it in May, if not earlier. But you know, Rockstar so you never know.

Lets try and put RDR2 behind us now, before we all go insane.

Oh its far too late to prevent THAT.

That clown is terrifying.

So I picked up GTAV during the Steam summer sale. I'm currently going through and replaying the story missions a bit but will probably jump into GTAOnline at some point. RIP my wallet.

Will probably also stream some of it too.

Did you all check out the E3 trailer for this game?  Looks pretty damn awesome!  Most def a game that you need to team up with friends. If I can afford to get it when it comes out I would like to team up with you, @Chalk .

For sure. I've been playing a fair bit of it on PC, and watching so many streams of people playing it on Mixer.

Okay, so someone tell me I'm crazy but I have ordered an Elgato capture card (the internal card) for use so I can easily stream from Xbox/PS4/Whatever with all of my overlays etc instead of the built in app. For the record I love the app and love how accessible its making streaming for everyone but I am thinking about doing some proper streaming in my spare time, and in order to use overlays and bots etc I need to stream from my PC. This however has one main issue, and that is that my upload speed is currently not good enough for streaming in FTL. This should be fixed sometime in the coming months as my internet gets upgraded as part of a national rollout but for the time being I will have to see how I go with just streaming with the 20s or so delay which Twitch and other platforms have.

Oh, and I've also ordered a green screen off eBay. This is when you know I may have gone too far.

Oh I forgot to mention. Yeah I'm totally famous and in their promo video for Mixer. Although the chat that is shown there obvious isn't from the picture they've put there. They've photoshopped the co-streaming videos in.

I'll update the links in the first post too. I've also realised that my internet may just not be able to deal with such an upload speed from my PC. Which is weird because it works fine on the Xbox but maybe that's more optimised or something. I'll have to continue to play around.

Some awesome new features have come with the rebranding. The one that excites me the most is costreaming. You no longer need to use an external site to watch a multistream. Mixer has it built in. When costreaming both channels (or up to the 4 channels) have their chat merged and everyone from both channels are chatting to each other.

I'll do up a bit of a post later on about the other stuff.
