Site Suggestions & Bug Reports / Re: How are we doing?

I don’t follow the Twitter(don’t have it) or Facebook, but wondering what kind of promotion we would do on a moment when R* posts a trailer? We’ve much more followers on FB and Twitter, with much more people likely to see things. Do we do a thing where we’d say “Here’s the new trailer... join us to discuss in (link to thread we’re discussing here). I know we do didn’t have the opportunity this time, but I presume we do that in normal cases?

Yeah I generally will retweet anything official from Rockstars twitter account, as well as do various posts asking for feedback etc. Sometimes will point to a topic here if relevant. I want to try and be more active with it but its tricky with work and other commitments.

I am also starting to get more involved in streaming sites like Mixer and hosting people playing the game. Planting the seeds to running some competitive style MP games when the game launches.

That said if anyone is willing to help I am happy to give you access to the facebook/twitter accounts.

To give some genuine feedback, and I know I might seem like a bit of a prick, and I know some things are beyond control, but it’s incredibly disappointing as a user that for a moment as big as we had this week the forums are down, and what should be one of our biggest moments in the last while and should have increased activity has been wasted. All staff here deserve a huge amount of credit for keeping here alive, but it’s just disappointing to see an opportunity like that wasted.

I am thoroughly disappointed as well. Unfortunately the way the hosting fees work is that it uses my personal card to charge it to. So when there is an issue it can sometimes take a few days or so to resolve. I'm hopeful that if there is more traffic that some income can be generated by ad revenue or donations from forum members which I could funnel to the host via PayPal which would hopefully resolve problems, and therefore my personal CC would be more as a backup to that system, but alas it is what it is.

@silebyboy I'm not sure if the is the new name for or not. I thought that the guys over at GTAForums were going to try and acquire that domain to add to their GTANetwork family.

My bad, I misspoke. I meant the English supporters who seemed to have a huge amount of cockiness. It seems all I saw on social media was people posting #ItsComingHome.

Do you think you guys can beat Belgium? Also, why are there 3rd place playoffs? I can understand if there are medals at like Olympic Games etc but is there anything like that for World Cup?

Nothing satisfies my Australian rivalry needs like a cocky English team getting knocked out.

One of the streamers I mod for has been playing a ton of this lately. Also a heap of content creators have been getting back into it. Really having a resurgence.

I’ve calmed down now, but Chalk really knows how to push my buttons 😡 (btw, I’m not being serious and rarely am).

Can I push all the right buttons? ;) ;)

Discord is even less active than this forum so no point going there.

Who's fault is that? I mean I am normally around to chat whenever I am home, and when I am at work I could probably reply periodically.

What's the saying? You can lead a horse to water but you can't make it talk to friends.

Gaming / E3 2018
« on: June 09, 2018, 12:21:54 PM »
So E3 2018 is set to kick off in just a couple of hours with EA's press conference.

What is everyone hoping to see this year?

Personally I am very keen to see more about Vault 76, as well as hoping for a new Elder scrolls that is MP but not an MMO like Elder Scrolls online. Not sure how likely that is though.

Also excited to see if Sony announce anything new as we kinda know most of their current lineup of games for the next 12-18 months.

Want to see more of Anthem, Skull and Bones, Last of Us Part 2, The Division 2, Crackdown 3, Days Gone and Splinter Cell.

Of course, always interested to see if there is anything said about RDR2 but I am not expecting much to be perfectly honest.

Announcements / Re: Red Dead Forums Mixer account

The only channel on Mixer I have for Red Dead Forums is the one you set up in the TEAM that the same one you're talking about or is it a different one?

I am a bit jelly at that weather. Its been pretty cold around here as we've moved into Winter. That said, I much prefer colder weather where I can rug up as opposed to oppressive heat over the Summer months.

How has everyone been lately?

Announcements / Red Dead Forums Mixer account

Hi guys,

Just a quick update. I've gone ahead and created a Mixer streaming account for Red Dead Forums. I plan on using it down the line for some of the events and tournaments I want to run both for when RDR2 drops, as well as in the lead up to it if there is any interest for people playing the original Redemption.
I also am gonna try and host other streamers who are playing the game when we don't have other events planned.

If you could go ahead and give it a follow so we can start to get a fanbase of those interested in these types of events I would be grateful.

I am still trying to work out the best way of doing it but have a few ideas I am gonna play around with over the coming weeks/months.

As always if you have any ideas or expressions of interest in playing some online events let me know.

Disappointed the collector's box doesn't come with a copy of the game. I'd be happy to pay another 40-50 bucks to get that and a special/ultimate edition of the game but its hard to justify that kinda money without the game.

The metal box sure does look nice though.

We'll see what happens.

Unfortunately I did not get the season pass and I still need to finish the story.

I am in the same boat. Maybe I should finish the rest of the story on stream. I need to find more games to sink time into streaming them. This might be a good solution.

I am most certainly looking forward to playing this. Already have Xbox Game Pass sorted for Sea of Thieves so will be ready to play this when it drops.

Do you think Rockstar will do anything at E3 in June?  Isn't that mostly for the announcement of new games? Maybe they will wait until after E3 to give us more info on RDR2. I keep checking for something new on the internet...not even any rumors.  I think it's just the calm before the storm! It's gotta be soon!

Historically there hasn't been anything huge at E3 for Rockstar titles. Mostly stuff like the PC release info etc. There was an amazing booth a few years back for Mafia III, as well as rumoured secret conferences for people within the industry. Rockstar kinda don't need to rely on the hype of E3 to get news across. They could very well release something before or a few weeks after and have the full attention of the internet gaming community.
I'm kinda hoping to hear a bit more, seeing as though they said we would hear more Soon™, but they always release things to their own schedule.

I have to get on this. When I saw it got enhanced I got all excited.

it's D Day ... go pick up your copy of Far Cry 5 ...

I have been playing far too much of this. Its pretty good.

I'm not sure who wants to see me go 3-20 in Battlefield or unskillfully stumble my way through an RPG on the lowest difficulty.

Anyway, I've been interested in Breath of the Wild too. It's times like these I really loathe console exclusivity.

I would be. I need a good laugh every now and then.

October is going to be a busy month for me. In the first half I will be needing to move out of my current place and into a new place. Hopefully get everything sorted fairly quickly so I can get back onto streaming and have no issues by the time RDR comes out. Thankfully I have got the first two weeks off work, but that means I won't have time off work when RDR2 first drops so will just need to play the hell out of it when I am not working.

Red Dead Redemption 2 / Re: Regular tournaments for RDR2

I actually really enjoyed all the hunting animals and finding plants with a group. I remember when I was doing one of the challenges and I was buddied up with another 1-2 people looking for the same time of plants. We spent hours helping each other find them all.

Grab the bag and hold your own were in the last RDR game though Ferg, so it’s perfectly reasonable to think that they could also be part of the new one.

I'm pretty sure he was referring to the original question about a Battle Royale mode.
