Red Dead Redemption 2 / Stupid and Amusing Tales from the West
« on: October 27, 2018, 05:51:49 PM »
So, I have a tendency to make some real boneheaded moves in-game.  Anyone who watched me launch a stick of dynamite at a house, only to have it bounce straight back at me...while I continued to run straight at it, knows that.

Of course RDR 2 has proven that I still have the stuff.  Of course some of my situations arise out of sheer curiosity on my part.  Others are because I'm stupid.

For instance, I keep having issues with RT and LT.  And forgetting that if I have a weapon out, LT is not going to enable me to talk to people.  And RT is an even poorer option, especially to a left/right challenged person such as myself.  So, instead of lifting that horse off of that poor woman...BLAMMO!  Then I had to drag her and hide her body in a bunch of weeds in some rocks.

Or that mission where we were sneaking up on the O'Driscolls and were supposed to be stealthy and silent.  I go to pull out my bow (which unbeknownst to me, I had left back on my horse) and BLAMMO!  No more sneak attack for us!

Did ya ever let that little devil on your shoulder get the best of you?  Yesterday, I pulled up to a hanging in Valentine.  The mother of the perp who was going to be hanged was having a huge emotional fit.  They hung him...she crouched on the ground in utter emotional agony.  So, I calmly went to her side.  And kicked her.  Well, that was an immediate bounty considering I had done it in front of the deputy and all.  But it was worth every penny of my ten dollars.

I can't be the only one...admit your stupid goofs and funny situations so far in RDR2.  I want to know.

Grand Theft Auto V / A Quick Way to Repair Your Car
« on: September 28, 2013, 02:49:24 PM »
Found this out today by accident.

If your car is a mess and you need it repaired but don't feel like driving to the repair shop, change your character then change right back to the original character.  You'll be in the same place, in the same car, but the car will be repaired.  I did this three times to confirm and it does work.  I also don't think you're charged any money, so as far as I can tell, it's a free repair.

Grand Theft Auto V / The Vehicle Camera is Killing Me
« on: September 27, 2013, 09:09:31 PM »
I *hate* that it snaps back immediately when you lay off the stick.  I prefer my camera higher when driving than the settings allow.  In the older GTAs, I was able to move the camera to a suitable position.  In this one it just snaps back.  Same when I'm in the helicopter.  If I want to look around, god forbid I let off the stick for an instant...BAM the camera snaps back.

I've looked for a setting to remove this, but can't find it.  Do I have any other options or am I stuck?

Grand Theft Auto V / Truffade Adder (Bugatti Veyron) spawn point
« on: September 21, 2013, 11:48:53 AM »
Don't spend a million bucks buying this car, it has a spawn point in Los Santos.
You'll find the Bugatti Veyron spawns on Portola Drive, between Eastbourne Way and Carcer Way in a parking spot on the west side of the street.
If it isn't there when you drive by, drive further away and come back.  I have better luck finding it in daytime hours than night.

I've marked it on the map below, in the crosshairs.

Grand Theft Auto V / Gameplay things I like/dislike so far...
« on: September 17, 2013, 10:04:16 PM »
This is a small list so far, since I haven't done much but roam around but here are a few likes and dislikes.

Weapon wheel
Little bonuses like being able to put up/down convertible tops on cars
The camera (I always felt it was really sluggish in GTA IV, this feels more like rdr)
Driving physics (no they aren't realistic, but I prefer them over IV's)
The scenery is beautiful.

The radio station wheel.  I find it difficult to get to a particular station with the stick while driving, so I end up using the left D pad most of the time.
The cops are super-touchy.  I parked my car outside the airport entrance and was reading the manual and ended up with two stars I never was able to shake.

Grand Theft Auto V / GTA V Snapmatic/Photos Thread
« on: September 17, 2013, 09:20:52 PM »
I thought we could use a thread to post our snaps from the game.
But first, a question...I can figure out how to take a picture...but how do I take a selfie?  It's making me crazy.

So here is my first pic.  It ain't great, I was just fooling around.

Show some of your photo work and please...someone answer my question!  :D

Forum Games / The Lyrics Game
« on: June 08, 2011, 08:28:56 AM »
This is pretty straightforward.  A person posts a line or two of lyrics from a song.  You guess the song and artist.  Whoever guesses correctly posts the next lyrics...and on and on...

Let's begin.  Try to avoid Googling the answers!

Pride and joy and greed and sex, that's what makes our town the best
Pride and joy and dirty dreams and still surviving on the street...

I thought it might be interesting to have a thread where people talk about the books they are reading.

My current read is "Islands of the Damned" by R.V. Burgin.  It's the memoir of a man who is fighting in the Pacific in WWII.  So far, a fascinating read.  I'm trying to expand my knowledge of history a bit, as I feel I'm not as well-learned in that subject as I should be.

It's definitely a normal departure from my usual Post-Apocalyptic and Zombie Horror.

Posse Recruitment: Xbox 360 / The USA Lawmen need YOU!
« on: January 10, 2011, 06:46:41 PM »
Hi All,

I am the current XBox co-leader for the USA Division of the Lawmen Posse.  We are currently looking for members to help us out.  Our main goal is to go out and hunt down those players in Free Roam who randomly attack and kill other players.

As my EU Leader Cat states,
well have you ever been wandering the plains, on the way to do some gang mission's, when suddenly some criminal players come along looking for a way to up their bounty, well they just chose you, now its 6 vs 1, when suddenly you see off into a distance a strong and proud posse come running your way, sudden thought "oh no more people wanting to kill me" then criminals start shooting at these new strangers and then suddenly you hear the crys of pain from your enemys, as they all fall one by one, the team stop infront of you, proudly before returning to where they came from leaving you safe and free to return to your missions, well you sir just met the red dead lawmen alliance.

Not only are these patrols fulfilling, but they are fun too, as many FR members that we hunt down then posse up and try to exact revenge.  But the Lawmen always prevail!

If you're interested in being one of the "good guys" then Uncle Sam needs you!  Visit us at check out the forum and apply for a spot.  The safety of Armadillo, Blackwater and the rest of the RDR world relies on YOU!

Introductions / Hi Everyone
« on: December 19, 2010, 03:51:42 PM »
I'm DNAgirl, 37 years old, in Texas and I've been lurking for a few weeks.  I figured it's time to introduce myself.

I bought RDR when it first came out and last night I finally finished the 100% Completion for the main story line.  I don't have a lot of playing time, so I was so thrilled!  Now it's on to Undead Nightmare.

Well, I just thought I'd say hi and I'll try participating in some threads soon!
