I set the start for the important part. Anyone considering buying gold bars should probably watch it before doing so.

I am done. I loved playing with all the old gang and some new members as well. It was the one thing that kept me playing the shit show that is RDR online.

PVP the thing I enjoyed most about red dead is total garbage. Ability cards, living in Marshmallow towns, to ridiculous spawns (behind you, in the middle of the other team, 50 miles out of the map) to the terrible play lists with teams colored the same or as close to it as possible. The crappy gun response, inconsistent shots from point blank range with shotguns to the grapple exchanges that leave both players open to be killed. I tried to like it, more than most games, because of the players I was with, but, nope. I can't do it. I was hoping for red dead 2 not gta old west. I have played too many pvp games that work near flawlessly to excuse the garbage that Rockstar released. I get it, they claim it is a beta, but gta plays the same way and has been out for years. These things will not improve and the Rockstar fanboys are too numerous to accept that their great company puts out overly monetized crap like this and won;t accept its many flaws and just cheer at the things that they like.

The single player of this game was fantastic.

The boring free roam where you need to sit and fish and hunt to make any money is good for some players but I prefer doing gang hideouts or missions which don't spawn near frequently enough.

Anyhow enough gripe. I am just really happy to have played with all of you. If anyone fancies some Overwatch I am up for it. I wish just having good friends in game was enough for me to keep playing something that is putting a more and more bitter taste in my mouth. Feel free to hit me up for other games when you get tired of grinding.

Red Dead Online / FYI Private free roam is available
« on: December 10, 2018, 07:52:13 AM »
Just wanted to point out for those that don't know and are not interested in griefers and just want to fish or hunt in peace, you can get a private free roam very simply by doing a stranger mission. Make sure the stranger isn't named like bonnie or hector or something, just stranger. as long there is a cut scene in it, when you finish the mission you will be placed in s private free roam that no one else joins. great for cougar hunting or getting your bounty buckle etc.

Red Dead Online / Spoiler!! Map of All gang hideouts in red dead.
« on: December 05, 2018, 01:50:21 AM »
I got this off of reddit. I know some people want to know where all the gang hideouts are so they can hit them up wherever they are on the map. Hope this helps some one else besides me.

5 It gives a good idea of the games economy and see where we might be headed with microtransactions. Love the game, but I really hope Rockstar doesn't screw the playerbase as bad as it looks like they might.

Red Dead Redemption 2 / Thanks red dead 2
« on: December 04, 2018, 10:13:53 AM »
I almost always play solo in games until a couple months ago when Alphapug and I started playing some overwatch together here and there. Since red dead multiplayer has been active, I have barely played alone. People from the past have been pouring in and I am really enjoying interacting with other gamers again. My friends list is growing and I look forward to logging on and seeing who I will be partying up with. Had great games with Jester, Papa, Dev Slayer, Pug, Craigy, UTB, Violent Gent, and Meleana hope I missed no one, and look forward to playing with more people from these forums. Feel free to add me: Triphixa on xbox. If you see I am not in a party I will usually accept an invite into one. This game is meant to be played in a posse and playing with old friends has made me love rdr2 instead of just having complaints about its economy, pvp and griefing.

Multiplayer General Discussion / I Challenge that Pussy Valjean!!!!!
« on: November 28, 2012, 06:53:16 PM »
Ok Val, Let's do this. 1 vs 1 Goldrush.

Knives only until someone grabs the bag. when a bag is being carried feel free to shoot. You must say down you go everytime you kill your opponent or the kill doesn't count and you have to stand there and wait until the other respawns and kills you in return. Those are the only rules.

Accept the challenge and beat me 10 bags to nothing or everyone will know you are a coward and weak at goldrush.

Oh, and I am serious. ACCEPT the CHALLENGE!!

Multiplayer General Discussion / XBL Extreme Hardcore Saturday Max Payne 3
« on: November 28, 2012, 06:07:04 PM »
Matches start at more or less 10 pm GMT. (5 pm Eastern US).

1. Post your name and friend request Triphixa.
2. log on and message me or Accept the party invite for the game whichever comes first.
3. We will all be part of the Max Payne 3 MadMen crew so that everyone is randomly distributed. If you aren't part of MadMen yet, ask for invite.
4. we start with 1 or 2 DeathMatch to warm up, then move to gang wars matches, sometimes Team Deathmatches.
5. all weapons in the match are fair game.
6. No whining/whinging!

We will be playing in public Hardcore matches for Max Payne. This means no minimap unless you use intuition burst. Free aim only. We are just doing this to have fun and bring people together. This is not to be taken seriously. Some people are better at free aim than others. if you are better than everyone else maybe try a different approach. Use a weapon you normally wouldn't etc.. Max Payne xp is earned only one way. by playing public matches and it takes forever, so lets keep these matches public if at all possible.

If you have any questions pm me or leave it on here. If there are too many people then we will have two rooms or do large deathmatches. Please have a mic on. this is more for the fun and social gathering than for dominating each other Gangam style.

So I played a little free for all tonight and I decided to record my play. Had to use my phone to record which is why it is at a slight angle but it is still watchable.

I joined a grab the bag session late with only 2 other players in it. The Mexican zombie was a little laggy but, you can see how I compensated. I watched the video after the match and realize I whore dead eye like crazy. I know I started using it more and more due to how much lag I suffer in the game. The video may disgust the purists and small children. Watch it at your own risk.

The Saloon (Off Topic) / Hot Wings
« on: September 18, 2011, 09:14:43 PM »
I have to admit, I love hot wings or buffalo wings if you prefer. What makes a hot wing good though? Is it just the spice? Or does the flavor mean more? I had some wings one time I couldn't eat more than 2. The first time it ever happened. Most places have wings they claim are hot wings but even their hottest I find mild at best. Anyone can roll a wing into pile of crushed ghost peppers but it doesn't make them good. Inedible maybe.Tonight I had some wings from a local pizzaria. They were excellent, but the place poured some sauce over top which I had to wipe off. Not that the sauce wasn't good, just I have always preferred my wings to be marinated then dry rubbed before deep frying. Some like theirs, baked and drenched in sauce. What is your preference? And what restaurant / city have you had the best? If you make your own, post your recipe. I will post mine.

Chicken wings
Marinated 24 hours in:
Dave's insanity sauce about a teaspoon
1 cup frank's red hot sauce
1 table spoon brown sugar
1/4 cup of soft butter

dipped in egg mixture
then tossed in flour mixture:
cayenne pepper
sea salt
ground habanero

deep fried for about 12 minutes. Never overload the deep fryer as it cools the oil and fucks up your wings.

I look forward to seeing a few more posts in here showing your recipes.

I have seen a bunch of threads about what areas you live and thought of something we don't really think too much about.

Every City  / State / Province / Country wants outsiders to think of certain things that equate with that respective area. While we do think of those things as locals, we are a little more in tune with what we really think of our area. I figure maybe people can shed some light on what your government wants visitors to see / think of, and what you actually see / think of in your City  / State / Province / Country. I am doing a small pictorial but if you are too lazy to do that you can just write what you think. Please follow the outline of

Gaming / Dazzle capture
« on: August 20, 2011, 06:38:50 PM »
If you are already using the Dazzle I need your opinions and or suggestions.

So here is my setup.

Dazzle HD not set up yet.
Turtlebeach X11 headset
HDMI cable
I already butchered my other xbox cable to run it with the headset and HDMI.

I want to be able to hook up the dazzle to record while I play. I watched a few of the youtube tutorials but, I am hearing different things about it.

This is what I have heard / watched.

You can't play HDMI while recording on the dazzle.
I need 3-4 splitters.
I shouldn't use Studio HD 14 I should use 12.
There will be additional lag while I play.

What is the best dazzle set up?
Should I disconnect my HDMI? Do I have to use all the splitters?
How is yours set up and do you suffer from additional lag?
Does anyone use HDMI to play and are still able to record sound and video to their dazzle.
What size in MB/ GB is an average recorded gang match?

Thanks in advance.

Multiplayer General Discussion / Do you even care about leaderboards?
« on: July 07, 2011, 02:05:23 PM »
So I picked up Red Dead when it was first released. I rented it. After having to herd cows and break horses I got a little bored of it and returned it. I didn't bother to buy it.

Fast Forward to last Boxing Day.

I picked up the disc version of Undead Overrun. I like zombies, I like cowboys, I like third person shooters. I played through the single player and no cow herding and just a few horses to break. The game was sweet. Then I realized I had full access to multiplayer as well. So I gave it a try.

Week one I spent getting griefed and killed relentlessly. I was starting to think this game sucks. After a bit though I started to level up and get better at killing people. I played regularly for the next few months. I managed to get to 5th legend. I was pretty happy about that. There was a lot of grinding gang hideouts and picking flowers and other crap, but I was entertained. I logged over 750 hours from December 26th to the end of April. A little obsessed? uh, yeah.

It was about that time I started playing Gang Matches. I loved the pvp aspect of the game. I got my ass handed to me frequently. I got better at headshots. I started to go positive. I started to get MVP. I got a bunch of golden guns. I got reset back to level 1 with a corrupt save file.

I am now working on getting my 3rd legend again. getting my 200th headshot for gold weapons, trying to decapitate my way back to 5th legend. I stopped playing free roam after the reset and just played gang matches or co op etc..

To the point

Not once in the entire time I played did I even look at Leaderboards. Until recently. I became much more aware of them. I started checking them after sessions. I joined Social Club. I am in the top 1000 of all the gang matches. bag and shootouts. Doesn't sound like much. Until I looked at my friends. Top  2000 to 6000.

I focused on Hold your Own Leaderboard. I am now 235th on that list. I don't expect to reach the eightgame or comeatmebrah levels, top 1 and 2. I mean seriously, they have nearly 4000 Hold your Own matches under their belts. with 3,462 and 3,432 bag captures respectively. I on the other hand have 293. (Bag captures is what counts for rising up the leaderboard of Hold your Own.)

I do want to break into the top 100 though. It is achievable. I think just over 500 bags.

So to wind this long ass wall of text down and finally say hey a thread not about bitching and complaing. I am curious if any one else actually gives 2 shits about Leaderboards and where they stand in them. If you do and if you actually read the thread to see this part, post where you are at in your favorite leaderboard, and where you want to be at realistically.

Happy Hunting

Multiplayer General Discussion / Corrupted save files
« on: May 17, 2011, 05:36:25 PM »
Anybody else have this happen? I was a fifth legend with over half my guns golden, I had 80 some odd % of the challenges completed. I log on 2 days ago and it says save file corrupt. I say fine, it will be fun to be level 1 again and I can laugh about it when I head shot some legendary guy. So, I play gang matches only and get to level 11 before I log off. The next day I log on and it says it can't find the game save. So I play some more. I log off, the next day I log on and back to level 1. I am at this point saying wtf.

I am afraid to log back on and find myself back to level 1 again. No other game I play has corrupted saves. the single player has no corrupted saves. Just multiplayer red dead. Yes, I could have backed up the files, but seriously I have been gaming a loooong time and have never lost a save file until now. I put a lot of hours in leveling up through gang matches and gang hideouts to get to fifth legend. Not to mention picking damn flowers and killing beasts.

I have finally learned to deal with the glitches that Rockstar is too lazy to fix, but the lag has gotten so ridiculous over the past month that many gang matches are unbearable.

I for one will not be buying LA Noire. Nor will I be buying another Rockstar title. If something is broken in your product you fix it.

I don't want to sit here and just complain. I loved playing "working" Red Dead. I had more fun than I have had in many games, before the glitches started happening in every match and the lag started to ruin game play. This could be the best game I have ever played.

Unfortunate that Rockstar is in denial of the problems and won't seem to do anything about them. Yes, the game has been out for a year. I still see tons of people playing it. This means that it isn't a dead game. Hell, Diablo 2 still has people playing it and that thing has been out forever.

At what point should a company give up on their product? I will still play red dead. I bought it and I have fun with it when there is no lag, or at least the lag is minimal. I won't however put another dime in a Rockstar title. End of rant.

I also sent this same post to Rockstar. Wonder how they will reply if at all?

Multiplayer General Discussion / A Personal First
« on: May 11, 2011, 02:52:58 PM »
So last night I logged on to play around a little bit. Taking a break from gang matches, I was in Mcfarlanes and I decided to box some randome NPC. I hit him a couple of times and he starts a runnin'.

I chased him to the bridge at the end of the town and caught up. While I was chasing him, some random guy rode up on his horse. I figured ok, I am going to get shot now. I ignored the guy and started laying a beating on the NPC. While I was punching him, the guy got off his horse and walked over and just stood there watching.

I knocked the NPC out and started kicking him in the crotch repeatedly. Got tired of it and let him up. I then knocked him down again and started kicking some more. The random guy watched a little and then put the NPC out of his misery shooting him.

I walked away, and started after another one. A friend of mine joined the session and thought the player was shooting at me. (he was shooting at the law officer in front of me, since he had a bounty now.) So my friend shot him.

I gave my friend crap for it, but I can understand why he thought the guy was shooting at me. This has been the first time I have been in free roam and some one hasn't just killed me for being within the same screen as him.

Just thought I would share. I am tired of all the same old cheat threads, figured I would add some sunshine.

Gaming / Xbox 360 Rep
« on: April 25, 2011, 12:47:02 PM »
I just noticed my rep on my console. I hardly ever look there, but, what I found was interesting.

41% preferred
59% avoided

Trash talk 14%
agressive 28%
unsporting 28%

What is interesting is that I don't use my mic unless it is on party chat with friends. When I do send messages, it is letting people I have reported for glitch cheating know I have reported them. I only report people who glitch to take advantage of other players, sniping from inside buildings they aren't supposed to go in, invincibilty etc.. I don't care if they glitch to have fun without killing other players.

The aggressive part? I only shoot people that shot at or killed me first. I may kill them until they leave the area, but it is rare I just randomly attack someone.

unsporting? I don't even know where that comes from. I don't use glitches, I don't mod, I don't boost. I am not sure in what way I am unsporting. Unless people think camping is unsporting, which I do in some games but not all. Or if I am unsporting for reporting people who abuse glitches.

anyhow, how is your rep? and do you think you deserve it? I am not sure if PS3 uses this feature, if so how is yours set out?

Multiplayer General Discussion / So I asked R* about the lag...
« on: April 20, 2011, 06:02:54 PM »
I would like to know what Rockstar is doing, if anything, regarding the massive lag issues in Red Dead Redemption Online multiplayer play. Over the past few months I have seen more and more of this lag issue. I have never played any game where this has been so prevalent. It is seriously detracting from not only my enjoyment of the game but many others. I understand some occasional lag when playing anything with people from around the world. I do not understand constant, every day problems that persist over a whole session of gameplay. I am sure Rockstar is aware of the issue. I am just curious if anything is being done about it? I love the game. I enjoy many Rockstar titles. I am finding it doubtful I will continue to purchase Rockstar games, if this is how online play is going to continue. It is annoying enough to have so many glitches that get exploited in the game that haven't been fixed, ie: rapid fire, shooting fresh corpses for dead eye, walking into closed buildings, invincibilty, etc... Why can't something be done about the lag?
Thank you for your time.

That was my question.

The answer:

As far as i am aware, the game generally works without issue online. How is your console connected to the internet?

What do you think of this response?
