I have heard of those things happening. I've only experienced stranger missions not working correctly. But, I was on last night and everything seemed to be ok.

Only thing I can think of is they are working on things for the new update, I guess... and the servers get messed up while they are doing it.

Yes, there is a vampire! It is a stranger mission or actually an easter egg. But, after finding the 5 clues....all writings on a wall found in St. Denis....you will be able to encounter the vampire in St. Denis at a certain spot between the hours of midnight and 1am.  He killed me the first time but I was able to get him to spawn again. I think I had to wait a couple of in game days.  Look it up on YouTube.  You also acquire the ornate dagger after killing him.

I don't know for sure...I haven't really tried to compare the behaviors of some of the horses.  My big Shire is a big baby sometimes and he will outright run off when he sees a gator. I think the worst place for any horse to get spooked is in the swamp.  He acts the same way when he sees one of those little black bears that don't even attack you.....so, I don't know why the horses are even afraid of them. Maybe when the horse is tired it scares more easily...I don't really know.  Since he's a "Dutch" Warmblood.....maybe he needs a "plan" or just a vacation to Tahiti!  LOL!

I know! That swamp still freaks me out at night....I don't know who gets more spooked me or my horse! LOL!

Last night I was on my way back from the swamp heading into St. Denis....just on the outskirts of town where there is farmland and a couple of houses.....I heard something whizzing by me....it was arrows!  Two of those creepy swamp people followed me from the swamp. It was very early in the morning, I think. Never had that happen! I killed them both and I was thinking...I'm so close to town I hope I don't get wanted by the cops. Glad that didn't happen.

As I've said before....I am finished with the main story and epilogue but this game continues to surprise me with different encounters!

Red Dead Redemption 2 / Challenges and Side Quests
« on: February 17, 2019, 01:14:27 PM »
I am currently working on the Herbalist challenge which is very time consuming, so I figured I would get it out of the way...been putting it off for too long because I hate looking for plants. I am on #9 to find all 43 herb species...to find out that even though I have already found most I still have to go repick them all.....is such a pain! What I have left (thank god I wrote each one down) is 9 more orchids.......BUT, some won't spawn until you have done certain parts of the Duchesses and Other Animals exotics side quest. Ok, that's fine...it will be a nice break from that tedious task and I will find the orchids as I complete each part of the quest!

The RDR2map website and Youtube have been a tremendous help with doing these.  For the exotics side quest I was happy to find a great hunting spot to find all 20 herons for part 2.  Go to Clemens Cove where the horse fence is and that entire area near the water is a spawning ground for so many types of birds!  I found myself not only looking for herons but studying all types of birds I could not find before!  To get more to spawn, either set up camp and sleep or save and reload your game!  I mean, there just isn't a few birds here and there....there are FLOCKS of birds flying by and some just land on the ground to pick at dead bird carcasses.

I hope this is a help for someone else working on this challenge/quest!

It should show up on your in-game map as a little drawing denoting that it was found. Sometimes you have to zoom in when viewing your map to see details like that.

Also, there is a website (www.rdr2map.com) where you can keep track of your collectibles if you make an account...pretty sure it's free.  Extremely helpful for locating those hard to find collectibles! The map is interactive...so you can search for an item and track that or you can check off which items you want to see or don't want to see on the map! It's great! I'm always using it! It's been a work in progress and whoever created that map is always adding to it!

I'll have to go check that out! I love finding little hidden details like that!

Fortnite and Titanfall hooked up and had a baby called Apex Legends. That's probably where they all went.....

Red Dead Redemption 2 / Re: Future Story Mode DLC a Possibility?
« on: February 07, 2019, 01:55:06 PM »
Mexico IS there with the exception of all the buildings and houses. The only partially completed building is El Presidio. I have glitched off the map and there is so much potential for the possibility of future map expansions. Past the normal boundaries of the actual map there is land that seems to go on forever and there is way too much there to be just for "distance visuals". North of the Grizzlies is the area that they say is "Canada". If you meet up with Eagle Flies' Father in Annesburg with John of course....he tells John that the remaining members of the Indian tribe have gone to Canada. And I think, if I remember correctly, Charles says that's where he is going, too. The supposed "Canada" area is beautiful and looks very different than the Grizzlies snowy areas. Most of it looks like finished graphics...there are mountains, trees and weather conditions like a blizzard. It's incredible!

I've gone to Guarma and if you explore off to the East of that map there is land that also goes on forever. Most of that is very unfinished but there are patches of beautiful mountains and grasslands, trees and other vegetation.  What is that map going to be? Again, there's way too much there to be just visuals for Guarma.

I was really disappointed that Sadie did not have a very large part in the main story. It would be great if they did some sort of DLC with her doing more bounties or something. A DLC with Landon Ricketts would be awesome, as Papa said! They could include that somehow in a Mexico DLC along with maybe Javier being that that's where John met up with them in the first game.

So many ideas and so many possibilities!  They have to be planning on expanding the map or is it there for a possible RDR3?  I mean, didn't they say that they were planning RDR2 during the making of the first game? It's not really that far-fetched of a speculation. I just really hope they don't do a Undead Nightmare 2....zombies are sooooo overdone.  I hear people are talking about time travel?  Now that would be something different!

I sort of have the feeling that they're preparing a version of RDR2 for the next gen of consoles, sort of like they did with GTA5.

That's what I'm afraid of because I can't afford a new console. They are coming out with new consoles way too fast!

I'm too cheap to spend the $200 and I never have more than 4 people anyway. I just join other friends who have persistent posses.

Can't wait to level up enough to get that fast travel option for my camp!

Sile! Howdy pardner!  Yea, I am 100% sure that I WOULD have loads of fun with you guys on PS4....buuuuut, I am not the one playing hardball...my bank account is! It never lets me have any fun...some guy named Bill gets all our hard earned money. We wait all year right about this time for our tax refund money....but we still can't even do anything fun with that. Last year, when we got our refund, our water heater broke...so, there goes that! Wonder what it will be this year? I know it won't be a PS4 and sub to go with it.

Anyhooo, enough about that boring stuff.

What I wanted to say in this thread is an apology for my negative posts about RDR Online.  I don't mean to come across as negative and nit-picky and I sure don't want to make a bad impression about the game to any newcomers to the forum. That's not right....I'm sorry. I had my own expectations about online and what I thought it was going to be like and when I found out it wasn't....I was mad and disappointed. I know that others feel the same way but are trying to make the best of it. I should try harder to do the same. Deep down inside, I hope that Rockstar makes improvements and we know that they will definitely add more updates/features/content to make the game more interesting. I just gotta be more patient I guess. Thanks for hearing me out and I will try to be more positive about the game.

I would gladly meet up on RDR1, but as I see, no one is interested. I remember we tried getting together a while back on RDR1, but again...no interest.  So, if no one was interested before RDR2....I don't see how it would be possible now.  It's sad to see so many turn away from RDO now (for whatever reason). Never expected this in a million years! Here I thought that this would be the only online game I would be playing for the next couple of years. Wow, was I wrong!

And as Ferg said....online gaming HAS become unsociable.  That's because hardly anyone wants to play just to have fun and do creative, crazy things (there's sooo much potential in RDO for this to happen)...most are too busy being competitive and trash talking each other. That's not fun in my opinion. That makes people hide in parties or not talk/text at all. Because now if you say something a little off people are too quick to report you for the littlest of remarks.

If it wasn't for story mode, the beautiful graphics, horses and a few other things...I would have deleted this game off my hard drive.

I only play RDO when I get invites....which is rare anymore since most my friends have quit playing for the same reasons mentioned here.  Recently friended someone who knows how to glitch off the map and get to Mexico and Guarma.  It's pretty sad that the only interesting thing to do on RDO is glitching off the map!  Btw, Guarma is beautiful!  If you haven't been there yet...you need to go before they patch it. It is kinda time consuming to get there, but if you have a bunch of friends with you it makes the long trip fun and there's some things to see along the way. I've also glitched to "Canada" which doesn't take as long.

I think it would be cool if we did a RDR1 reunion, too!  I'm up for that! I have RDR1 on both the 360 and the One. Where do you think is the best place to let people know something like this is going on other than this forum or Xbox/PS4.  It's really a shame that some people that were here during the hype before RDR2 was released are not coming here anymore because of RDO's disappointments. Do people know that we also have Facebook, Twitter, Discord and the social club to organize meetups?  I'd like to get together as friends no matter what posse you belong to...no competitions....just socializing and having fun.

Had a great time playing with Utb and Joey last night!  We did some hunting and fishing and tried to use one of those small one horse carts to bring fish back to the butcher.  I swear we caught about 5 Northern Pikes but when we got to the butcher all the fish fell out of the cart when another npc wagon crashed into it and made all despawn except for 2 fish. Oh, well...we tried. Ended the night with a posse fight (they started it) and we made them all run away. They were no match for the likes of RRR!!!!

Definitely will have to do that again!  Sorry I was so tired!  Next time I will have some coffee. I really want to try doing a fight club...that sounds like fun!

Hmm, sounds nice. I am an older gamer on Xbox and I would love to have more older gamers like me to hang with on RDR2.  Not really into competitive gaming...just want to have fun with people who like to help each other out leveling up and such.  I don't have any set gaming schedules either but would be up for playing with people who like to play regularly.
