Hey folks! Long time no see. Now that RDR 2 is out and multiplayer is coming, I figured it's high time to come back to my old home here. How has everyone been?

To those who don't know, I used to be a member here a long time ago. Had a lot of fun, met some really cool people.

If you want to add me on PS4 my handle is AustinB-420.

Hope to have as much fun as I did last time!

I wish it were the 70's... Where I could get a decent job and have a decent house, a decent car, that's not tied up in a bank and get a cart full of groceries for 20 bucks. Pay the bills and still have some cash to either save back or have some fun with.

That place I worked at sucked anyways. Had to wade through oil to get to a shitty machine that was a WWII-era piece of shit. Worked 5 sometimes 6 days a week for 12 hours a day. Taxes ate my ass up on my paycheck. Drugs were rampant too. Everyone was on some kind of meth or speed. Cops came in and arrested people all of the time. I think it was for the better I got laid off. That place sucked a bag of dead dog dicks.

Oh well, frees me up to work on motorcycles now. Which is my real passion. I'll be just fine. :)

I really want mini games back. I know a lot of people hate them, but I loved them.

I'd love to see horseshoes make a return. Maybe a "shooting range" type setup game where you have to shoot cans and hanging plates and stuff. Like the one at the back of MacFarlane's Ranch. Have a gun challenge and an archery challenge. Since we have the bow and arrow, have three arrows to fire, best to the center wins.

Then there is gambling. I love gambling. I want not only Texas Hold 'Em poker, but 7 card stud, five card draw, and others. I want a blackjack table that isn't clearly rigged. RDR was almost impossible to make a profit at blackjack. It was clearly rigged. I'd like to see a roulette wheel, liar's dice, a craps table. Have five finger fillet return too. Maybe chicken fights where you can bet or fights with people where you can bet or participate. Even have a slot machine, those were around at the time.

I'd love to have a static casino in a town and also a Riverboat Casino that comes into port and travels down the rivers. That would be amazing.

Season 8 coming October 22nd! Who's ready?

"I hope you got your shittin' pants on... 'Cause you are about to shit your pants!"

I miss Hud a a lot... Me and that dude had some great times. We also had a lot in common personally and it was always a pleasure to talk with him. Our senses of humor were similar. He also enjoyed Craig Ferguson and we'd always talk about going into ASS MÖDE!

I miss Finn. She was always great to play with online. She loved to pick flowers with me. I did have a guilty pleasure with her though. I'd like to horse race her and shoot her just before the finish line to hear her go completely off on me in her native language. Man, would she give me up the road and I couldn't understand a word of it. But it sounded cool as hell.

I also miss Cast. She was just an overall great person. Anytime I had something personal going on in my life, I could PM her about it and she gave great advice. Really helped me out a lot in a lot of situations. Just a great chick in general.

I have a Motorola flip phone from 2004. It makes calls and texts. That's all I need a phone to do. It's sturdy and practical.

And no, I'm not 75 fucking years old It's not a "Jitterbug"... I'm just a Luddite in most aspects of modern technology.

It's about 75-80 during the day with no humidity. At night it's high 40's to mid to high 50's. It's perfect.

I love this season. By far my favorite. I don't like that it is a harbinger of Winter. But besides that, can't beat that crisp, clean, feel to the air!

I have a baby coming in December, so most of what I do lately revolves around that.  And fishing.

Congratulations on the baby!  ;D

Bad news... I got laid off from work. Goddamn factories.  >:(

Cels013 is not back on the forum yet ;)

What is this reference? I keep seeing this from time to time. I either missed something or my memory is not as good as it once was.

And yeah, Javier's hat was cool as hell. Made up for his shitty mustache... Man, what a shitty mustache. I could grow a better one as a sophomore in high school.  :P

No mention of him yet by anyone. I can't even spot him in the trailers. He was a big player in RDR. He, Bill, and Dutch were the last remnants of the gang. Do you think he will be in RDR2? What role will he play?

Seems he and John had a deep history.

He has to be in the new one, right?

Maybe he is hiding in Chuparosa. Or as Irish and probably Roo would say: Chupa-feckin'-Rosa!

I completely forgot about my '63 Corvair Monza. I've had it since I was 8. It was my grandpa's and he gave it to me when he died. It doesn't run and is in rough shape. It's also one of the most dangerous cars ever made. They have bad problems in the rear end and the fuel cell is up front on the driver's side quarter panel. It explodes if you hit something. It's cool because the motor is in the back and the trunk is up front. Really flips people out when I show them that.

Southern dude here... Sounds for sure to me like an Eastern Texas/Western Louisiana accent. It has qualities of both.

There is a screenshot of the original post in this video. Around the 32 second mark.

"Rockstar is notorious for their secrecy, they revealed Red Dead Redemption 2 at the end of 2016 out of nowhere even though it's reportedly been in development for over half a decade. A year of silence followed with one set of screenshots and now we have a new trailer that gives us a glimpse of our new protagonist, the setting, and the story.

It's still pretty mysterious and we all have a lot of questions but an old leak from several years ago may give us some insight on what we're going to be doing in Red Dead Redemption 2. Many people shrugged the leak off as the game hadn't even been announced at the time but it seems that the former Reddit user was able to accurately give information about the game before we even knew it existed.

The leaker revealed that John Marston is indeed in the game (since it's a prequel) and that the main protagonist goes on the run with his gang after a spy rats them out to the government. The game will see you building up a posse to take on missions and you'll be creating and moving camps throughout the story. There's also some endgame details that are a bit spoilery so progress past the next paragraph at your own caution.

"You play a gang leader named Arthur. The biggest change made to the game is you have a posse. If I remember correctly, the story kind of starts when you find out someone in your outlaw gang is a pinkerton spy. The pinkertons end up having you on the run through most of the game. You acquire lots of members of your gang such as John Marston, Abigail, little Jack, and others. The core mechanic of the game is having to maintain and continuously move your outlaw camp. When you go on a mission you will choose who to take with you, similar to Mass Effect or Dragon Age. The game spans five zones. A directive they keep getting is to make the environments more interactive like Skyrim. Whatever that means."

So, if you're interested in knowing what will be occupying your time after you complete Arthur Morgan's story, we have some details for that as well. Red Dead Redemption 2's ending remains unknown at this point but players will gain control of John Marston after the credits roll, a la Jack Marston in the original game. It'll see John building his ranch in Beecher's Hope, doing various tasks to establish a home for his family.

There is kind of a game plus like like the last one had. You end up at Beechers Hope and switch control to John Marston. There are then lots of quests etc dealing with building up your ranch. You literally will do x And Z to build a gazebo. I heard someone designed a mini game where you help a mare give birth that had people laughing."

We're unsure if this will remain in the final game but it sounds like they've spent quite some time developing it and fleshing it out. Additionally, it sounds as if there was at some point several years ago there were some issues within Rockstar Games.

"The last I heard, which was a few months ago, the game was kind of stuck in development hell of sorts. Then team kept remaking a vertical slice demo for the leaders of rockstar and they aren't impressed... They didn't find it different enough or innovative enough. Hopefully they got out of that rut.

I've also heard that since gta5 morale at rockstar SD had been bad. Long timers are quitting. Lots of turnover. Lots of frustration."

Obviously, game development is stressful but hearing of long time employees drop in the midst of a game is concerning. It could have something to do with Rockstar veteran Leslie Benzies being seemingly forced out of the company and filing a multi-million dollar lawsuit against the developer/publisher."

Red Dead Redemption 2 / Re: Do you think we will see John Marston?
« on: September 30, 2017, 09:06:02 AM »
I want him to be in it really badly, but I don't think he will be. The voice actor is retired. That was such an iconic voice, it cant be properly duplicated. He will for sure be referenced and mentioned. My money is on the time frame of the game being right after the gang leaves him behind and shit starts to fall apart. Look how much trouble the gang is in during the trailer... They are extorting, intimidating, and robbing everything in sight. It seems to me that they are pretty desperate. Trust is also brought up. The blonde lady talks about trust and so does Dutch. They are also being hunted down and chased by someone or some organization. The whole group seems desperate and paranoid.

That all points to this taking place toward the end of the group to me. So John is still either gravely injured, in jail, or just out of jail setting up his farm with his family.

Pretty sure Bill is in the trailer. At least his hat is. The hat has the brim flipped up on one side. I think it's during the part where they are in front of a burning mansion.

I like what I see so far. As I said in the new trailer thread, he seems to be a true outlaw. I cant wait to play as "the bad guy" and really put the hurt to people in a vicious manner. I like his look, the way he dresses, and the way he goes about speaking. He seems to be a well-read, literate guy who uses intimidation and violence to his advantage.

I'm thinking he won't be the only playable character. Remember the first GTAV trailer? We only had Michael at first. The others were introduced later.

I'm really excited by this! I totally forgot yesterday was Thursday, thought it was Wednesday. Anyways, I had the itch to do some hunting and was playing Red Dead. Then I went on youtube to research something about it and there was the new trailer.

I thought it was beautiful. The game looks like it covers so much ground. We see swamps and a plantation-like mansion, maybe Louisiana? A desert-like town similar to Armadillo, possibly Texas (New Austin). There are prairies like Kansas or Nebraska, a Tall Trees-like area that looks a lot like Colorado. But my favorite looking one besides the swampy area is the deep snow covered mountain area. That's possibly the Rocky Mountains, maybe even bordering the state of San Andreas. Maybe we can see Mount Chiliad off in the distance? So with all of that geography, I can see a massive map incoming. Lots of places to explore!

The animals look amazing too. I cant wait to go hunting! I want to be able to bait the water's edge and shoot a Gator with a bow and arrow. Hunting is my favorite part of single player. It's relaxing to me to go on a big hunt and net 30,000 dollars or more at a time. I hope to see more hunting challenges too.

Speaking of bow and arrow, I'm excited for that too. That was something I begged for in the last game. I love quiet stealth weapons and hope to see a bigger focus on stealth missions. In Redemption, I loved the mission where you high jack the train using the throwing knives. Hope to see more of that. Then there is dual-wielding. I cant wait to use that as well. Although in real life it is inaccurate as hell... Ever tried to do it? You cant hit shit.

I like the main character so far. I like the fact that he's obviously a "bad" guy and is so without apology. We see him so far intimidate, extort, maim, and kill without batting an eye. I like that. Don't get me wrong, Marston is probably my favorite game hero of all time and I loved playing as him. But I really love being the bad guy. I felt like there was no other choice but to be good in Redemption. There were a few missions where you could make the bad guy choice, but it didn't fit the character. I cant wait to be the gun slinging outlaw. I'd rather be Darth Vader to Luke, The Joker to Batman, or Negan to Rick. I think this game may fill those needs and I like it.

Then there is Dutch. I heard his voice and my ears perked up immediately.  I started flipping out like I did in '96 when I got my N64. I loved Dutch and his outlook on life. He looks cool as shit too. In that fancy vest with his hair all curly and slicked back. It also confirmed that this will be a prequel.

The big elephant in the room is Marston. Where is he? Seeing as the guy who voiced him said he'd never do it again and lives happily on his farm in real life, he probably wont be in it. Maybe mentioned. Maybe this game takes place right after the gang leaves him and this is the last days of the gang. Maybe set around 1907 or 1908?

It seems to like there are many "heist" type missions like in GTAV. We see train robbery and bank robbery. I hope they follow the GTAV template with the heists. I loved setting them up the way I chose to and seeing them come to fruition.

Sorry for such a long post, but I have watched this about 20 times frame by frame. One more bonus thing I noticed... Fully animated horse balls. Yep. Fully animated horse balls. They swing about realistically. The fully animated horse scrotum puts it over the top for sure.

These are my vehicles. Not actual pictures, mainly because I never get around to taking pictures of my stuff.

I have an '03 Chevy ZR-2. It's my daily driver. It's beefy as shit and is peppy as hell. It was a logger's truck before I bought it. It's beat all to hell, but I love it. By far my favorite truck I've ever owned:

Then there is the '77 Trans Am that I found in an old lady's barn. Only 5,500 or so original miles. Took a Winter's worth of work, but finally now mostly restored to original condition. I only get it out on the weekends and drive it to work rarely. I have been known to grow a sweet-ass mustache and demand to be called "Bandit" and will not answer to any other name but that:

Then I have a pile of parts from various motorcycles I have collected and will be building my first real chopper this Winter as my Winter project. I have a motor from a '78 Harley FLH to build the bike around. I'm going to shoot for something similar to this:

That's about it. Other than that, I have a golf cart. But who gives a shit about seeing a picture of that?
