General discussion / Re: Would OPTIONAL MP3 Button Layout work in RDR
« on: June 21, 2012, 08:55:38 AM »
Umm...you can hold the A button to sprint and maintain the speed you are running/riding/driving wagons in SP.  I think having only the X button for rolling is enough for me ....there's too many buttons to mash as it is. Anyway I don't really like the controls in MP3....took me a while to get used to it.

Hello and welcome!

You're gonna love this game!  I didn't think that they still made copies of Revolver.....cool!

What console do you have?

^Aw, c'mon, you can't be tellin' me that only people on PS3 do all the fun stuff! LOL!

There's gotta be some of you on Xbox that I can go rooftop chillin' and boatin' with!

Look me up if any of you don't mind having a - somewhat- newby along for the ride.  I'm on east coast time and I know it must be hard for everyone to hook up at the same time.

RDR won't be dead 'till Red Dead 3 comes out. Farkin' weirdos are forever, folks. Don't even listen to the pessimists. We need to be welcoming to those who are going to keep buying the game. Every time I log in, there are total noobs in FR. Whadaya tell them new kids: "RDR is dead, boy, go play something else"? Hell no! You tell 'em about rooftop chillin' and stagecoach boatin' and then you put a tomahawk in their hats, nice and proper!

I like how you think! My sentiments exactly!

I needs some learnin' how to git up on them rooftops and trains! LOL!

I've only gotten my horse up on Marston's Barn and at McFarlane's barn, but only up to the roof over the paddock area I guess it's called.

I've been checking out some of the gameplay videos for this game....I might just have to give this a try! I like the idea of customizing your character.

Gameplay / Re: GOTY Edition Undead Nightmare
« on: June 07, 2012, 11:40:13 AM »
Hi there...don't apologize, I started playing earlier this year.

I have the GOTY edition, too. I have Xbox, but it should be pretty much the same...put in disc #2 and after the start screen you should have two choices....multiplayer or singleplayer. Choose single to get to Undead!

I just started playing Undead not too long ago.  It's a little harder....but fun!

Gameplay / Re: Some newby questions...not rhetorical
« on: June 05, 2012, 04:51:18 PM »
Hmm, those are good questions...not sure I have good answers. Ya should've posted this in the multiplayer section, pilgrim! LOL! Just kiddin' with ya!

Some are a mystery to me...I just watch and laugh when I see them happening.  ::)

1.  I don't know...I don't like shooting my horse. I've only done it by accident.  I shoot other people's horses <evil grin> sometimes.

2 and 3.  Yea, some kind of crazy glitches...I have no clue.

4.  Hell no...this is the invincibility glitch.  I experienced this glitch last week. I KNOW I got this player with a headshot...blood splattering everwhere....but not dying. Needless to say, that player got kicked out of the session!

5. Not sure what you mean. What targeting mode are you using? I use normal aim which locks on to the chest of the other player. And, I've noticed that it will depend on how far you are from that player/enemy....it won't lock on if I'm at a far distance.

6.  I am guessing that this is happening when you are in the gang matches and bag games - right? If so, it's supposed to happen...only when you shoot and sprint (use A button) you will show up on mini map others sights.  And the second part of that question:  I've seen this also...I guess it has to do with lag (everyone's different connection speed)

7.  I have had this problem myself.  I tried everything in vain to see if I could "fix" it.  I upgraded my internet speed to 20 mbps (?) and got a new router.  I thought it was my disc, so I went out and bought another RDR disc. The associate at GameStop told me that it was a problem with Rockstar's servers for this game only and they were not going to fix it now cuz the game is old...bla, bla, bla.  So, I think, what finally worked for me was to go to my router manufacturer's website and change the settings. So far so good! I mean, I still lose my connection from time to time, but it's much better now. I'll PM you with more info.

Welcome Duranis! Glad to hear from another young-at-heart player! I am in the 40-something age group as well.  I only started playing about 5 months ago. Finished single player about 2 months ago. I am at level 50...thinking about going legend...but, don't want to give up my guns. LOL! I am not a totally serious player...but, I can be at times. I like to have fun, too. Everything is still quite new to me.  Starting to get into gang matches and free for all's...but, I think I would have more fun playing with some people from this board.  Hey, maybe some of us can get an old farts' posse together. LOL!  I know what you mean about finding people to trust...I don't have a mic, so that makes it more difficult.

I play just about every day....my GT is meleana66 on Xbox.

Red Dead Revolver / Re: Revolver
« on: May 29, 2012, 12:32:03 PM »
So, can Revolver play on 360?

I tried to hook up my old Xbox to my HD tv so I could play Revolver....but the graphics are all messed up. Do I need to change the settings somewhere?

I just found out about this today!.....jeez, where have I been? I hardly watch tv anymore....spend way too much time playing RDR.

I will be recording this - it could be good

General discussion / Re: Your outfit.
« on: May 19, 2012, 09:22:05 PM »
Yes, I think the LOTW outfit is everyone's fave! Mine too!

I like the Bollard Twins outfit on John. When in Mexico I switched over to the Poncho. In Tall Trees (where there's snow) I use the duster or the LOTW.

I was very disappointed when I found out that John couldn't wear the US Marshall outfit. Unless you enter cheat code...may do that the next time I play thru SP.

Only outfit I didn't get was the Savvy Merchant.....I am awful at gambling.

Yes! That music from The Good, Band and the Ugly is CLASSIC!!! Love all the Eastwood movies!

The music with the...sort of....music box or high keys on a piano always reminds me of the same music played in game when in West Elizabeth.

General discussion / Re: Does the cougar scare you?
« on: April 03, 2012, 09:05:11 PM »
When I first started playing the game in SP mode...I hated to go anywhere the cougars were. Nearly every time they made me jump! Now they are just annoying to me.

I noticed that the cougars/bears are more agressive in SP than in Free Roam...or am I wrong?  In Free Roam, one time I transported up to Cochinay and rode all the way down to Manzita Post...I did not see one cougar or bear! Weird!

Introductions / Re: Howdy yall :D!
« on: March 22, 2012, 06:37:33 AM »
Howdy back!  I'm new here, too. RDR is the only game I play....only game that's worth playing! ;)  Tell me about being addicted!!!  I play pretty much every day.

This is a really great site...lots of info!  Mods do a great job from what I've seen so far.

Oh, jeez, I dunno.....those were hard times for a woman.  Definitely wouldn't do the prostitute thing either.  I'd go look for John Marston or someone like him. Get
me a gun and a fast horse. Maybe find Bonnie to show me around like she did John.

Hints, Tips, Guides and Walkthroughs / Re: War horse
« on: March 19, 2012, 07:53:43 AM »
I got the Game of the Year edition of RDR....so I had the War Horse from the very start of the game.  I don't know if the War Horse is in Undead Nightmare because I havn't played it yet. It's the black horse with the white mane and tail.

899
I would have to say better looking women characters....or at least better dressed.  Abigail and Bonnie are OK, but I hate those huge pants they wear.  Luisa Fortuna and Annie Stokes are the best dressed, IMO. (Well, so far...I'm on Level 30 so I have not unlocked all characters. ) This is why the next Red Dead should have customizable characters.

Gameplay / Re: Ammo belt
« on: March 14, 2012, 06:55:59 AM »
I've wondered the same thing myself, but never thought much about it....until now.  I looked it up on the wiki site....you are right!

"The bandolier, along with the revolver holster's cartridge belt, changes in appearance with the amount of cartridges left on the bandolier. The bandolier seems to start changing when less than 50 rounds are left and around 20-30 for the revolver holster's cartridge belt. When the player is out of ammo, both the bandolier and the belt do not contain any cartridges. "
